Aoe Redeemed

Ren was watching the training. It was almost the end of week 2. Kim was still in the bottom 5. After Kim passed out, Yoshi adjusted training. Actually, he kept it the same, but instead of the those having extra training during meals, and normal rest times, he tacked it all on the end of the day. Ren was happy with this change. He saw that Aoe was helping Kim learn moves. This was helping Kim gain more points. During training, the trainees were helping each other but no one would help Kim. They all knew he was Ren's pet and in a sense someone not worth anything. This made Ren sad, but of course something came up that made it that a certain someone didn't have a choice but to help Kim out. As Ren watches Aoe and Kim during their extra training, he smiles as he remembers the conversations from a couple days ago.

Flashback to a couple days ago...

Kitchi had entered Ren's office and played the recording of his dad and brother's conversation. Ren was furious. Kitchi told Ren that he figured Aoe would lie to him when he showed up this morning and he begged Ren not to kill his brother. Ren thought for a moment and then smiled. Kitchi was worried when he saw this smile but left the office. He went to find Aoishi. He had a feeling his brother would be dead before long.

Aoe knew what he was going to tell Ren. It was a lie and he practiced it late into the night. When Ren told him to come in and take a seat, he was ready. Ren looked at him in the eye and asked him again why he didn't want to become a member of the double elites.

Aoe: I am worried about Megumi. Being a double elite would be a step above her family and then we would no longer be equals.

Ren: Bullshit, I am giving you one more chance to tell the truth or I will have no issue with announcing you are disloyal and therefore a disgrace. What do you think Megumi will say then. You won't even be a possibility.

Ren can see that Aoe is thinking. He is sweating and is pale. Soon enough Aoe starts to speak. "Akio told me if I didn't listen to him, then Megumi would have an accident. I swear that is the truth."

Ren: I believe you. I am well aware that Akio is not happy with me in charge. I am also aware that your father is not happy either. What I don't get is why you didn't come to me when this threat was made. Do you not consider me the leader either?

Aoe: No, you are our leader. Actually, you are better than Akio. Sanoske never really trusted my dad or Akio, but Akio's family always held the position of next in line since before Sanoskes' father's time.

Ren: I know this as well, which is why I have to go about this lightly. Now, I am going to give you a chance to redeem yourself. If you fail, you will labeled a disgrace and to prove your loyalty, I will expect an honor killing.

Aoe: Whatever you ask of me leader, I will do.

Ren gets a smirk, then looks at Aoe and tells him: You will join the elite training. You will not get an average of all the points everyone has for joining late. This means you will start at zero. If you want to stay in the elite warriors and not be a disgrace, you and my pet must finish in the top 5 and the end of the training.

Aoe: Your pet has to finish in the top 5?

Ren: Yes, I don't expect you guys to be number 1 and 2, but I expect you both to be in the top 5. I know you can make it, but you also have to make sure my pet makes it.

Aoe: I accept the challenge.

Ren: Good, now go tell Yoshi to add you to the training board with zero points.

End Flashback.

Ren just laughs. Aoe after 2 days has the same number of points as Kim. They both are still in the last 5 and therefore have to stay after training for additional training. Ren can see that Aoe wants to prove his loyalty. He hasn't figured out what to do about Kwan yet, and will probably wait a bit. Kwan thinks he is out of trouble and Ren obviously believed the lie that Aoe told him. He doesn't know that Kitchi already turned in the evidence of betrayal. Ren is just waiting. He has a plan and Kwan will find out he is on the losing end. Ren shut off the monitor he was using to watch the training as he had his first meeting with his faction leaders. He didn't want them to know he was watching his pet train. Only his double elites knew how much he cared for Kim, and he wanted it to stay that way.
