MIDORIYA'S POV

"You didn't even listen to what I had to say last night! Please listen to me!" Itsuka cried through the phone.

"Why should I?" I seethed while turning onto Kirishima's street. After working my twelve-hour shift and sleeping for six hours, it was officially time to get Daiki.

"Please," she whispered. As much as it hurt me to hear the sadness in her voice, I'm happy about the situation. She wouldn't let me come out or tell anybody what was going on. Now, the entire world thinks that she cheated on me. I know she's going to ask me to clear the air and come up with something about us splitting. I will eventually, but I think she deserves the heat for a bit longer, especially after how she's been blackmailing me with the custody of our son.

I sighed. "I'm about to pick Daiki up. We can talk later."

She sobbed before saying, "I have to patrol in three hours. How am I supposed to face the public when they all hate me?"

"You should have thought about that before blackmailing me with custody of our son and leaving the bar half drunk with another guy! You're the one who wanted to hide everything! Don't get mad at me because you now have to lay in the grave you dug." I pulled the phone away from my ear and ended the call before pulling into Kirishima's driveway.

As much as I want to watch her suffer, it also breaks my heart. She didn't technically cheat on me or end our relationship. I left her. She's not entirely innocent in everything, but she's also not wholly at fault.

I took a deep breath and knocked loudly on the door. Within a few seconds, it was opened by Kacchan. Daiki was standing in front of him with a broad smile plastered on his face.

"Daddy!" he yelled happily while hugging my legs.

"Hey, bud! Did you have a fun night?" I asked him.

He nodded his head. "The best!" I looked at Kacchan with a soft smile. He may not like me, but I'm so thankful he doesn't take that out on my son.

Kacchan frowned back at me. "Mini-Nerd, I have to talk to your dad. Why don't you pick up the toys and grab your stuff?"

Daiki released my legs, turned around, and quickly entered. My eyes locked with Kacchans. The ruby red eyes I can never get out of my head.

"Was he bad?" I asked, feeling unsure about the soft gaze I was receiving.

He shut the door gently behind him. "No, he said something to me that I wanted to tell you."

Oh, god. Daiki has been going through so much. He literally could have told Kacchan anything. "W-What did he say?"

He let out a heavy sigh. "He told me his mom was mean to him because he looked like you and you're dirty. I don't know what that means or if he remembers what she said correctly. What I do know is that he was really fucking upset about it. He practically went straight to bed when he got here."

My heart dropped in my chest. I don't care how much Itsuka hates me. She has absolutely no right to take it out on Daiki. She also shouldn't be trash-talking me to him. I would never do that. He's half of me and half of her. If we start tearing into each other in front of our son, it will seriously fuck him up.

"I don't know what the hell is going on with you and your wife, but he's hurting."

Before I could respond, the front door opened. "Bakubro, Mina still isn't feeling good, so I have to get the boys to Todoroki soon if we want to be on time for our patrol today."
