BAKUGO'S POV
"Hey man, thanks for coming to help," Shitty Hair said with his signature grin as I walked into his overcrowded house. Pink Cheeks went into labor this morning, and our friends, who aren't at work, are with her. Someone had to stay back and watch the kids.
Coming over here was the last thing that I wanted to do with my day, but I couldn't leave him to watch this many kids without help. "Where are they?" I asked while glancing around. Usually, they're sprawled throughout the house. Right now, I don't see a single kid in sight.
"They're showing Himari around since she hasn't been here before," he replied.
I forgot about her. When I walked Mini-Nerd to the car, she stayed behind with Deku. She clutched his hand so tightly that I thought his fingers turned blue for a minute.
"What's her story?" I asked. I've been thinking about fostering since Camposing; well, Deku told me how much he liked it.
"Midoriya said she came from an abusive home and doesn't trust other adults very much. She knows we're heroes, so she's okay to be around us, but she isn't exactly going out of her way to be around anyone other than the kids. She's sticking extra close to Daiki." I nodded my head.
"Kacchan!" Mini-Nerd yelled as he ran in through the back door. Himari paused by the door as he ran across the room to me.
"Hey," I frowned as he latched onto my right leg. Usually, I'm thrilled to see him. I did a good job at pretending the other day, and I was true to my word by not taking my anger out on him, but it doesn't mean it didn't hurt.
"Himry wants to see picture," he said while backing away from my leg.
"A picture of what?" Shitty Hair asked with a cocked brow.
"Soccer net," he smiled.
Why the hell does she want to see a picture of a soccer net? "Hold on, let me look one up," Shitty Hair replied. While he was scrolling on his phone, Himari cautiously stepped further into the house. She was a cute kid, but she certainly was shy.
"Like this?" Shitty Hair asked while showing the screen to them.
"Yeah!" Mini-Nerd cheered. "Himry, you make?"
"I can, but I have to talk to Mr. Deku," she said quietly.
Shitty Hair's face filled with confusion. "He's not working right now, so we can call him," he said before scrolling through his phone to find Deku's contact. He hit the green button before putting the phone on speaker.
"Hello?" Deku's voice said after only two rings.
"Hey, the kids are fine, but Himari wanted to ask you something," he said before handing her his phone.
"Mr. Deku? Can I make two soccer nets?"
He thought about it for a minute before responding. "Yes. Ask Kirishima to grab the key I gave him and unlock your bracelet." Shitty Hair slipped his hand into his pocket and pulled out a small key.
"He's got it," she replied.
"Did you ask Kirishima if you can make the soccer nets? It's his house," Deku reminded. That should have been the first question he asked, but I can't blame him for being distracted. His best friend is pushing out a child, and if he's as torn up as I am, he probably couldn't think straight before he went to the hospital.
"Yeah, I don't mind," Shitty Hair said. He still looked confused as fuck. He probably has no idea what they're even talking about.
"Alright, take me outside with you." She nodded her head before turning for the back door. We all followed her quickly. I want to see what her quirk is.
