BAKUGO'S POV

I woke up this morning and felt lighter than I had my whole life. I have had a smile all day, and I don't think anything can take it off my face, not even Dunce. It is mid-afternoon, and I am getting ready to pick Himari up from school and Daiki up from Deku's. He is spending the day with Deku's mom. I haven't seen her since graduation. The two of us are going to have to tell our parents we are together. If we don't tell them ourselves, they will kill us.

I got Cotton ready to go with me. The kids and I are going to look at a dog today and hopefully find Cotton a friend. We will bring another fur baby home if we find one who can get along with Cotton and the kids. I looked down at the white fluff ball. "You ready to go?" He barked at me, letting me know he was, in fact, ready.

Grabbing his leash, my keys, wallet, and phone, we headed out the door. My first stop was getting the Mini-nerd and then his sister. Pulling up to Deku's house, I made my way up the walk with Cotton on my heels. I got to the door and knocked.

The door opened, and there were two soft green eyes I hadn't seen in years. "Katsuki, come here." She said as she pulled me into a hug. "Izuku said you were coming to pick Daiki up and spend time with him and Himari." She smiled brightly at me, reminding me of her son and my nerd. "I can't wait to spend some girl time with her. I still can't believe she is a permanent part of our family sometimes." She rambled on, reminding me of him even more.

I smiled at her as I pulled back from our long hug. "Yeah, we are going to hang out while he's at work. It's good to see you. How have you been?"

Moving back so I could come in, she didn't get a chance to answer me. Daiki ran to me, arms wide and wrapped around my left leg. "Kacchan! What you do here?" This kid's damn smile gets me every time; my heart just melted again.

"Surprise, we are going to get your sister from school and hang out while your dad is at work. How's that sound?" I smiled at him. "Are you ready?"

He began to jump up and down with excitement as Deku's mom looked at him, no doubt seeing his dad in him. I smiled at her as I scooped him up, asking, "So, are you ready?"

"Yes!!" and a few giggles were all I got.

"Katsuki, Izuku asked me to give you something if you can wait a moment before you two have to go."

"Sure." I said with a bit of confusion in my voice.

She returned after a few minutes and handed me a small warped box. "I don't know what it is, but he asked me to give it to you, so here you go."

I gave her hand a light squeeze as I took the small box. "Thanks." Turning my attention back to Daiki. "You need to grab anything before we go?"

His curls bounced a little as he shook his head. "Nope, I needs non ting." He said happily. I slid the small box into my pocket. I'll worry about it later.

After telling Inko goodbye, we headed for my car. Once I had him buckled in the seat I had to get for him to ride safely in my car, I got in the front, and we made our way to Himari's school.

Daiki, Cotton, and I were quite the spectacle at her school. All the kids fell in love with Cotton right away. Back in the car after making a scene at her school, we were on our way to the animal shelter.

I pulled into the parking lot and parked in the only open spot. Then, the four of us got out and made our way inside. Cotton wasn't too happy; I think he thought I was bringing him back to stay. I had to pick him up and carry him in. Daiki was a little too excited, jumping around. Here goes my first attempt at this. I crouched down to him, taking a deep breath. "Hey, Buddy, I know you are excited, but remember, we don't want to scare the dogs. Some of them are afraid of loud sounds and fast movements." He nodded his little head, looking at me with big emerald eyes.
