MIDORIYA'S POV
Nitro1991- Good luck. I love you.
Camposing1- I love you too.
I slid my phone back into my pocket and scanned across the playground, making sure all the kids were still in our eyesight. After that, I had nothing else to delay myself with. I had to tell them. I only hope Todoroki doesn't get too mad at me. I got upset with him for keeping who Nitro was from me; then, I hid everything from him.
I checked on the kids one more time before taking a deep breath. "I have to tell you guys something," I said quickly, pulling their focus to me. I kept my eyes focused on Himari climbing up the slide.
"What's up, Deku?" Uraraka asked.
I took one more deep breath, hoping to keep the words from vomiting out. "Kacchan and I seeing each other."
My eyes shifted to Todoroki when he instantly sighed in relief. After that sigh of relief, he fell silent.
"You and Bakugo?" Uraraka asked with surprise. The tone in her voice sounds like she doesn't believe me. I wouldn't believe me either if I were her. "Since when?"
"A couple of months ago," I replied quietly. I don't regret hiding it from them, but I do regret hiding it for so long. I should have told them a while ago. They wouldn't have told anyone.
"And you're just now telling us?" She asked. She didn't seem mad or upset like I thought she would. She just seemed curious. "If you've been dating for months, he's been putting on quite a show. Some of the stuff he said while we watched your date auction made me think you guys were still fighting."
"He was messaging me after every mean thing he said to apologize. It was also him that won the date," I added.
"Does your ex know?" Iida asked.
I nodded, still keeping my eyes on the playground in front of us. I'm much calmer in these situations when I'm not looking at them. "She didn't take it well, not that it matters. Being gay isn't a crime, and she can't use it against me in our custody case. She can try, but a judge will automatically toss it out since it doesn't affect my ability to care for my son."
"I take it that the kids know?" Uraraka asked.
"Yeah, they do. We finally told them about two weeks ago. We wanted to make sure that we were going to work before introducing the idea to the kids. I didn't want them to get attached if he didn't plan on sticking around."
"I don't blame you," Iida said. "Everything must be a million times harder with what you're going through." That's for sure. Introducing the kids to the idea was terrifying enough, but introducing the idea to my ex was horrifying.
"He treats you good?" Todoroki asked quietly.
I nodded. "He treats me and the kids great."
"I'm glad," he said.
"I'm sorry, Todoroki. I blew up on you for what happened, but it turned out to be one of the best things that ever happened to me," I said.
"You had every right to be mad, and you still do," he said with a shrug. "It could have gone the other direction, and I would have been responsible for that."
"I chose to tell him everything. You didn't make me do that," I said. I still think I had a little right to be upset because he knew who I was talking to, but I took all my anger and frustration out on him, which wasn't okay. "You're a good friend, Todoroki. I really am sorry."
"Me too," he smiled softly.
We hadn't been fighting the last couple of weeks, but the tension was still there. I didn't realize the tension was because he still felt guilty. "I love you." I rested my head on his shoulder.
