MIDORIYA'S POV

"Here's the deal. Two-week suspension from your hero duties, one month of anger management classes, and you have to do a press conference," Hiriko said. "That's what we agreed on with Ren's lawyer, the commissions, and the district attorney. Just know that being a hero helped you immensely."

I let out a sigh of relief. "I'll take it. Do you know what they want me to say at the press conference?" I don't know what I would be allowed to say, and I don't want to mess this up.

"Hawks will get in contact with you soon." I nodded my head. Having someone from the commissions to talk to will help more than Hiriko relaying the message.

I turned my attention to Takao. "Did you manage to get the restraining order against Ren?" Takao smiled while sliding a piece of paper to me. "When Daiki is at his mother's, Ren is not allowed to be within three hundred feet of the building, and he isn't allowed within one hundred feet of Daiki at all."

"Thank you," I let out another sigh of relief.

"I'm going to tell you now that this is going to be a messy custody battle. It always is with heroes," he warned.

"I don't care how messy it is. I just want my son to be safe. Has she been served the papers yet?" I asked.

He shook his head. "I will serve her the papers on Monday. I want to talk to you today about how we will build our case."

Hiriko pushed his chair away from my table. "I think my work here is done for the day. Hawks will get ahold of you to schedule a press conference and talk to you about what to address. They will also give you the contact information for your anger management classes."

"Thank you for everything." I smiled at him. Hopefully, he'll be willing to work with me in the future. He was quick and efficient, which is something I need in my life.

"It's no problem at all. You have my number. Call me at any time if you need anything. I'll show myself out."

We waited until he was gone before continuing our conversation. "Tell me about when your ex-wife randomly dropped Daiki off without telling you."

My blood began boiling instantly as I thought about how careless she was. "She dropped him off at the edge of the road without telling me she was dropping him off. She didn't text or call me; she didn't walk him up to the door; hell, she didn't even pull into the driveway. When I opened the door, there wasn't a car in sight, so she didn't wait to ensure he was safe."

He scribbled in his notepad while I talked. "When he got here, he was crying. I called her, and she said she needed a break because she didn't sign up to be a single mom." Yes, she was a single mom at the time, but she wasn't alone. She had so much support from me. I still pay for the house, so she doesn't have to worry about it.

"Tell me about the hospital visit," he said while continuing to write.

I shrugged before I heard the front door open. Himari and Kacchan walked in while chuckling. Since I had to do this today, he offered to pick her up from school and bring her home for me. "Hey, why don't you two phone in for dinner and pick a movie to watch? I'll be done in a little while."

"Okay, Mr. Deku," Himari smiled. They both made their way into the living room, leaving me and Takao alone again.

"She took him to the hospital for a broken arm. She didn't get him his cup, so he climbed on the counter to grab it himself. When she took him to the hospital, she tried to hide it from me. A friend ended up calling and telling me about it. I overheard her saying she would spank him if he didn't stop crying. She also freaked out on the doctor because she wanted him healed immediately." I frowned.
