Kris' POV
After the plane landed in Ljubljana, it was right back to the rehearsal space. We were bound to depart for Dublin in a week for two shows with the guys from Wild Youth and we needed the time to prepare for the upcoming shows.
The past week each of us has had the time to unwind after the rollercoaster called Eurovision has ended. Each of us got to spend time at home, seeing friends, seeing family. Jure, Jan and Nace all spent their time off in Slovenia, while I also spent some time in the Netherlands, and Bojan visited family in Bosnia and flew to Helsinki to meet up with Käärijä.
It was great to see the guys again. You'd think that after being around each other non stop for four months that we've had about enough of each other. But people don't realise that we aren't just bandmates, but that we genuinely were the best of friends. Even Nace, who hasn't been with the band for more than a year, felt like a lifelong friend to each of us.
"I feel like we should scrap Padam." Bojan said as we were discussing the setlist for the upcoming shows in Ireland. We had the setlist of the last few shows we performed in Slovenia after the release of our second album in front of us, but with adding Carpe Diem to the list and the limited time we had, there were some songs were had to scrap.
"It's one of the easier songs for foreigners to sing along too though." Nace reasoned. So far, we had already agreed to scrap Bele Sanje, Prodi Toku and Omamljeno Telo, but there were three more songs we had to remove from the setlist, but there wasn't a song that all of us agreed on.
"Maybe we should just look at the ones we want to keep no matter what? The ones that don't make it will be the one we scrap." I said followed by a shrug. This was going to be our first concert in a non-Balkan country that was completely unrelated to Eurovision, and we wanted to create a setlist that represented us as artists with the limited time we had. There were some non-negotiables, like Carpre Diem, Novi Val/New Wave, Katrina and Plastika, but other than that, our opinions differed as much as they possibly could.
The discussion went on for a little while longer and in the end, it seemed like Metulji, Padam and Demoni were getting cut, although we weren't quite ready to settle on the final list. Discussions had started about switching up the set lists for both shows, where there were arguments in favour and against them, and it started to feel like we weren't going to come to a consensus anytime soon.
When I felt my phone vibrating in my pocket I distanced myself from the discussion to check my messages. "Fuck guys." My eyes widened as I opened the message Eva had sent me.

Hiya!
It's been a few days, but I finished the translations of Tokio, Vem Da Greš and Ona. I've been working on Vse Kar Vem but I haven't been able to quite get it right.
Let me know what you think!
📎tokio.mp3 📎VDG.mp3 📎ona.mp3 📎lyricstranslationsJO.docxI saw four heads turn in my directions, obviously waiting for a further explanation. "You know how I've been hanging out with Eva in her studio when I was visiting family?" I started off, the four of them nodded in response. "She uhm, she translated three of our songs."
"WHAT?!" The four of them replied in sync.
"Why didn't you tell us about this?" Bojan asked as he got up to grab a bluetooth speaker to play the songs.
"She only told me when I was about to leave for my flight. I had no idea what to expect." I explained. Eva promised she would send the files, but I didn't know when, I didn't know which songs, or how many of them. It felt premature to tell the boys before figuring out all that. And after the first day back and getting back into the hectics of rehearsing and preparing for Dublin, the whole thing kinda just slipped my mind. "Now do you wanna hear it or not?" I said as I connected my phone to the speaker. "She translated Tokio, Vem Da Greš and Ona." I told the others before forwarding them the lyrics and pressing play on the first song.

"Fuck Kris, these are great." Bojan was the first to speak up after the third song finished playing. I saw him mouthing along to some parts while he was reading along to the translated lyrics on his phone. Eva's voice sounded great, although I had to admit I preferred to hear her sing in person. Still, if someone told me any of those songs were this year's summer hit I would've believed them instantly.
"The translation really manages to go into the essence of our songs." Jan chimed in, to which Bojan, who wrote the songs, replied with a nod.

I'm happy you think I did you guys justice :)
I'd love for you guys to record. Maybe we can arrange something over zoom?
Or you guys are welcome to come around for a rec session this summer?⁺ . ✦ . ⁺
"Guys, how would you feel about going to Amsterdam this summer?" I asked the guys with a large grin on my face. Instantly the four other guys started to crowd around me to look at my phone and the messages I was exchanging with Eva.
"Do we have time? With all the concerts we've scheduled and everything..." Jure spoke up, looking at me as out of the five of us, I'd probably have the most insight in our schedule.
"We had a three week break scheduled before the UK tour to write new songs. If Eva's free we could go there to record and write." The five of us shot each other an all knowing look. This was an opportunity we couldn't pass up on.

A little filler chapter, the next one is gonna be fun ;)I've chosen not to include translated lyrics, as I'm like the furthest thing from being a songwriter.
And thank you so much for 200 reads <3
