(Almost) Two Years Later: Spring 2025

I took a deep breath and straightened my dress before taking Danielle's hand. "Are you ready honey?" Danielle asked quietly.

"More than ever." I whispered in return. "How do I look?"

"You look absolutely perfect honey." Danielle said in her signature loving voice before fixing a stand of my hair.

Then, right on cue, the doors opened and my eyes fixated on the other side of the room. At the end of the aisle Bojan was standing with Martin, Kris, Jan, Jure and Nace on his side. On the other side, Lauren, Sophia, Bojan's sister and Naomi, the drummer that joined me on last year's tour and I had grown incredibly close with. I hadn't realised I was still frozen in my spot until I felt Danielle squeeze my hand. My eyes settled back on Bojan. I had seen him in a suit or tuxedo countless times, but somehow, he looked extra special today. The smile that was always on his face brightened up the room even more than usual. His hair was glowing in the light coming through the window behind him, the white strand of hair that I've grown so fond of stood out like snow under the sun on a beautiful winter day. How did I end up so lucky to have him...

Danielle and I slowly made our way to the other end of the aisle, my eyes never leaving Bojan's right until the moment Danielle put my hand into Bojan's and joined the group of women at my side.

"You look fantastic." Bojan whispered quietly before the officiant started to speak.

The proposal eight months ago came completely unexpected. Sure, we moved in, and marriage would be the next step, so of course I knew it was gonna happen someday, but on the day that it happened, I had no clue right up to the moment he got down on one knee.

The third Joker Out album was released just two weeks before, and Bojan's schedule had been filled with TV and radio visits across Slovenia, Serbia and Croatia, but also countless online interviews with media outlets from all over Europe. It was a busy time, but after the summer festival season, it was good to have an elongated time at home together, especially as Joker Out was kicking off their 2024 fall tour not long after and I was bound to stay in LA for three weeks straight. Just three days before my departure the two of us had planned to enjoy the late summer evening on top of our roof terrace like any other day. Only this time around, there were candles placed around the rooftop, heart shaped balloons were all around and flowers were used to decorate the edge of the terrace. "How did you... when..?" I managed to mutter out as Bojan took another few steps before getting down on one knee. I knew what was happening, but that didn't mean I was any less confused about how he had managed to put this all together. I had been home the entire day, apart from a long walk around noon with Zeus, and I hadn't noticed anything. And I didn't want to discredit Bojan, but with how the rooftop was decorated... it just looked too much for it to be a one man job.

Bojan just chuckled, held one of my hands in his and started his little speech, one that I'd be able to recite for years to come. "Eva, the time we spent together has absolutely flown by, and it feels like I've known you since forever. I love everything about you, from your selflessness, your creativity, to the way you never roll your eyes at any of my insane ideas and you're always ready to go along with them. You've made me a better person every single day we're together. Our story started back on your rooftop, and it only makes sense to continue it here as well. Will you make me the happiest man in the world and marry me?"

Wedding planning seemed like one of the most stressful jobs in the world, but it turned out to be quite the contrary. The both of us were extremely excited to officially tie the knot, which made planning so much less stressful. We considered a destination wedding for a brief moment, mainly considering the Tuscan region in Italy before Bojan confessed his preference to stay in the Balkan region. Bojan's sister ended up being the one who recommended a castle in the Northern part of Slovenia. It had a gorgeous view of the Slovenian landscape and was quite far away from any town or village, giving it the perfect serene feel we were looking for. The guest list was put together rather quickly as well ...initially. The more we went through the list, the more people (mostly) Bojan realised he wanted to add as well. The both of us wanted to make it a grand party. And with the amount of people Bojan considered to be his friend and wanted to invite, it was nearly impossible to keep it small and intimate. But we were only going to get married once, and what better time to have all the people you love and care about in one place. Let's be honest, the next time that was likely to happen would be at your own funeral ...so naturally the wedding would be the best option.
