Billy had the flu. Susan called granny to see if Max could stay longer because Billy wasn't feeling well. Granny was fine with that. It was nice to have the younger girls around.

Marlowe heard on the other line that Billy had the flu. She felt bad for him. Susan went to work for the day as Billy in bed passed out.

Knocking on the door, nobody came so she snuck into Max's bedroom from the window. Climbing in, opening Max's bedroom door, looking around to make sure that no one was home. There's Billy's door, knocking on the door, Billy groans. "Please no more soup."

"It's Marlowe."

"Go away. I don't want to get you sick." Then Billy coughs up some mucus. He spits it out into a bucket.

"I have care package for you, I'll leave it outside your door. I hope you get well California." Placing it on the floor.

"Why would you do that?" He turn over on his left side.

"Cause your one of the best workers that my granny actually likes." Before she left. "Are you sure you're okay?"

"My stomach hurts, called flu for a reason." Arms wrapped his stomach. That was killing him no matter what Billy does the flu was kicking his ass. Quickly grabbing a bin to throw up in.

Hearing California throwing Marlowe hated to leave him. Marlowe sighed as she stood outside the door. "Does sprite sound good to you?" Cause it does with her every time when she is sick.

It was like Marlowe was reading his mind. "Yeah." Grunting his word out.

Sneaking back from the window that Marlowe crawled into. There was a gas station near by that Marlowe could quickly walked too. Not taking to long to get there and back. Marlowe knocked on Billy's door, not hearing anything, quietly she opens Billy's door. He was out like a light. Softly snores. Billy had an empty mug that she poured some of the two liter into the mug.

Then dumping the puke out into his toilet and washing out, she was wearing one of those masks that nurse would wear if they were in surgery. Throwing it away as she gently shuts his bedroom door. Marlowe went out the front door. With a sigh Marlowe drove back home in her granny's car that she had borrowed.

Taking a shower when she got home so Marlowe wouldn't get sick and taking some meds as well. Max came down stairs with El, it was the last day that El was staying with them before going back to her dad's. "I wish that you can stay longer." Sighed as she turned on the TV.

"Me too, but my dad is coming home today and I'm sure he'd like to see me." El sat next to Max on the couch. "But hey we have one more week before school starts maybe you can come over or I can come over."

"That'd be cool!"El loves Max like a sister. And the same went for Max.

Hopper came about two hours after that, they all said their goodbyes to El. Max went up to Marlowes room and sat on Marlowes bed as for Marlowe was finishing up some paper work.

"How's Billy doing?"

"Not good. But I'm sure by the end of the week you'll be going home. Or it might be 24 hour flu. Might go home on Monday." Marlowe looked at Max with a soft smile on her face.

Max sorta lays on Marlowes bed. "He act like a big ass baby when he's sick. Like really sick."

Marlowe can picture that she wanted to laugh, but didn't. "I bet. Puking is no joke."

"He whines a lot and just doesn't leave his room. Which is good in a way. But when he whines about taking me to school while he's sick is pathetic."

"I can see why. But at least he'll be well rested up before school starts up."

"I hope so. Cause if not do you mind taking me to school?"

"I'd would have to ask Steve, cause my car is broken. Granny needs her car.  But if it's on a day where I can borrow it. Then absolutely."

Max got up and stood right beside her. "Whatcha working on?"

"Oh you know, bills. I'm helping granny with her bills and then on how much is spent. And then seeing how much it would cost me to get my car fixed as well." Marlowe looked at her paper work.

"That's nice of you to help out." Max would do the same with her mom, if she was old enough to work.

"I do what I can. Thats the part of the deal I made with her to come to live here."

"Oh that's right, cause Steve's parents adopted you. Why aren't you living with them?" Max was just a curious little girl.

"Because Steve's dad and I would fight a lot. If I spoke my mind he didn't like. And of course my aunt would step in and telling me to stop doing that. So it was best just to move out." Marlowe wrote some numbers down on a piece of paper.

"I hate when parents are like that. My dad wasn't like that at all. But Neil is, well with Billy anyways. Not so much as my mother."

"I heard that Neil is a real asshole. And looks like he is one too." Marlowe wrote another number and pulled out her calculator.

"That he is. You didn't hear that from me or Billy."

"You got it. My lips are sealed." Still not going to mention about the time Billy spent the night. She knew it was Neil all long.

Max turned on the radio and stayed with Marlowe until she was done. It was nice having the company, jamming out to the same songs that she likes. It was like having another sister around. Being an only child was a bit lonely. But she liked being alone sometimes. Having El and Max around was a little bit better.
