Billy joined them for breakfast, no fighting just laughter calmness, granny friend came over for a small chit chat and just feel in love with Billy, cause you know he brought out his charmness. Marlowe went up stairs to change as Billy knocked on her door, he kinda got bored of entertaining thee older ladies. Which he didn't mind but he just wanted to be somewhere else.
"Come in." Marlowe said while braiding her hair. Billy stepped into her room. Looking through the mirror seeing Billy. "Got bored of entertaining two old broads?" Wrapping a ponytail in her hair.
Billy looked around her room. Marlowe room looked cozy, a couch, radio, record player, Christmas stuff all over her room. "Sorta. I thought you didn't like Christmas?"
"I don't." Standing up while Marlowe started to put stuff away.
"Why decorate your room then?"
Marlowe sighed. "My mom used to do this when I was a child. It's the only good memory I have of her. Besides I don't do it all the time. I just needed to feel like I was near her."
Billy sat on the couch with crossing his leg on top of the other. "I see. Where are you off too?"
Sitting on her bed as Marlowe put on some socks. "Ugh. My aunt/mom wants me to come over and make cookes with her along with wrapping up Steve's gift." Rolling her eyes. "I don't care to go over there as much."
'oh some there something going on with this family.. oh Steve!!!' Billy thought. "Why not? And how is your is she your aunt and your mom?"
"She is originally my aunt. Since my dad left, Steve parents adopted me." Putting on the other sock. "Besides, I'll be by myself instead with my uncle."
Billy listened to everything that Marlowe had to say. "Oh why?"
"Him and I don't get along. I swear at him more than I do with my granny. Granny on the other hand didn't raise no dummy." Marlowe sighed.
"Is Steve going to be there?"
"Yes. So it will be like the old times."
With thinking Billy knew he would be pushed out of the household even if asked. "Why did you say that, would it be to much to handle?"
"Seriously?" She chuckled. "Because Cali, we would butt heads. I don't like causing fights when I don't need too. And it's also called trauma. I have a lot of it."
"So? I could handle it." Not seeing the real reason behind it all.
Marlowe sat next to Billy. "I'm sure you can. I'm just not sure if I can." Marlowe sighed. "Besides I'm not happy with myself that I shouldn't be dating. I don't know how to open up and shit. My walls are way to high to let people in."
Billy felt that. His walls were also up too. Billy had to have them up even when he didn't want them to be up. "Or is it because you still see me as an asshole?"
"Well no and yes. I still think that you are. No, with what I went through I need to handle it. I'm sure deep down somewhere in your heart that you are good." Tapping his nose. Realizing that she shouldn't had done that. "Sorry. You're not a child. This is what I mean." Getting up from the couch. "Plus your a bad boy. And I've already had my bad boy fill. I just want to date... When I'm ready to date a nice guy." Marlowe had already spilled to much to Billy. And that's not what she wanted to do!
Billy sees now. "A bad boy? Jeez thanks? I guess?"
"California, you are wanting to date older woman. And that's such a bad boy." Winking at Billy. "And you dress like it."
"You'know I'm not really a bad boy." Billy uncrossed his leg.
Marlowe stopped in her tracks. "Like I said, somewhere. " Putting on her sweater.
"Yeah." Acting like he's okay with what's being said.
"I'm sorry California." Marlowe shook her head. "You know what, if you want too-"
"If you are asking me to take you to Harrington's house. That'll be a fuck no."
Pursing her lips out and then back in with a nod. "Okay worth a shot. You wouldn't have to go in."
Billy stood next to Marlowe that's right by the door way. "He'll accuse me that I made you get in the car with me. I'm sick of fighting with that prick." Changing his positioning of his feet. "Sorry."
Marlowe scoffed. "None taken. Steve would probably say the same about you." Opening the door. "Thanks for coming to shovel the drive way." Trying to be sympathetic.
Taken back as Billy walked out of her bedroom. "Why are you thanking me? I'm getting paid to do so."
"It's called being nice Billy." Both going down the stairs at different times. Marlowe went into the kitchen as Billy grabbed his keys from his pocket.
When they weren't in his pocket, Billy went back into the kitchen. Seeing Marlowe on the phone with Steve. Hanging up Marlow said. "Steve's coming over to come and get me. Besides, Rae Rae needed some items." Marlow told her granny.
"Alright." Granny sees Billy. "Oh Billy I thought you had left." Smiling at him.
"Uh.. yeah I was about to. I think I left-" seeing his keys on the counter. "My keys in here." Grabbing them, waving goodbye. "I'll see you later."
"Goodbye Billy. Please drive safe. The weatherman said it will rain hail or something like that." Looking out her window. "But I can't tell." Granny sorta waved at him.
"Yeah.. thanks I'll do my best." Turning around he walked out of the kitchen. Billy could hear Marlowe and granny talking.
"I think Billy likes you?" Granny nudged Marlow's elbow.
"Me? Oh gosh no granny. He's into skinny girls and woman with experience. Me? None of those things." Marlow chuckled.
"Honey a boy wouldn't go up to a ladies room if they didn't have some interest." Granny walked over to the fridge.
"Gran." Rubbing her forehead. "Billy is just being nice because he's at our house. Knowing if he disrespect me or you. He'll never hear the end of it." Hoping that Steve will be on his way.
Billy shut the door quietly. It made him smile that Marlowe was talking about him. And snapping at her granny for saying such things.
Pulling out of the driveway, Steve pulls in side that was right by Billy. They didn't say to each other or anything. Just looking at each other. Steve got out to head to the house. Billy was fully out of the driveway as he drove back home.
Steve enter the house as granny told him to come in. Heading to the kitchen as Marlowe cheeks was red. "Oh thank God." Marlowe stood up from a chair and then pushed the chair back in.
"Billy again?" Steve said.
Granny wasn't in the kitchen, she was in the basement doing laundry. "Yeah." Marlowe softly said. "The driveway needed to be shoveled and none of the boys were going to do it. Aunt Kelly is out."
"You could had done it." Steve wasn't having a good day.
"And so could have you. But! Granny is paying Billy to help around the house. Surprisingly, California offered to help around here. Of course he'll be getting paid since it's a winter job."
They both headed for the door. "But why?"
"Cause it's payback for what Tina did. Cause I "made" Tina punch California. Even though! I did no such thing. Sure I might had a little to do with it. But not everything."
"Shit. Well it's sucks to be you. Don't it?"
"Sure does."
