The teacher handed you your test, making you groan, seeing the big, fat, red C on the paper. You looked over to your friend Haemin wearily before he showed you the pretty A  written next to his name, which made you scoff. "I've offered to tutor you, Y/N." Haemin tsked. You huffed, "It's history... why is this so difficult?" you whined half heartedly.  Haemin laughed, "Because you're stupid," he said, leaning back in the plastic chair. You shot him an icy glare, making him raise his hands in defense, "I'm kidding, heel," he said, making you scoff even more.

This entire conversation is what eventually led you two to be cooped up in the back of the library. "Annnnd I don't care" you say huffing shutting the text book. "this is exactly why you're damn near failing" Haemin chuckled looking up from his notebook. "It's all so dumb," you whined, sinking into your seat, making Haemin smirk at your dramatics. "Y/N," he said, crossing his arms, giving you a knowing look. "Do you want my help? Last offer," he said, raising his brows in a way showing he was serious.

"Fine."

With that, you felt Haemin grab your chair, pulling it next to him, making you flush. "Jesus, Hae- it's just history, don't get so riled up," you teased, pulling your messy notes to your newfound spot next to him. He smirked, shaking his head. "You're ridiculous," he mutters before beginning to help you.

This same routine went on for weeks. Haemin seemingly scoots closer anytime you have a question, and his random moments of eye contact making your breath hitch with nerves. Your crush on Haemin wasn't something that was new, but history class definitely might've worsened it.

"Okay, so he obviously likes you," Kat shrugged, biting into an apple while the two girls sat at lunch. The one day Haemin had off saying he had a debate meeting of some sort. "You think?" Y/N questioned, twirling the fork in her hand. Kat shrugged sucking in a breath, "not to be nosy but I could ask Minho if he knows anything" she said making Y/N quickly shush her. "Do NOT get your loud-mouth boyfriend involved with this!" Kat scoffed, "loud-mouth and idiotic are two very different things but both are aspects I love and apperciate him for' Kat said matter-of-factly smirking before turning seeing the blonde boy join them. "what about me being an idiot?" Minho questioned. Y/N scoffed at the couple, "nothing you wouldn't already know" Y/N said making both Kat and Minho snort.

"Our dear Y/N has taken a liking to a friend of yours," Kat said, elbowing Minho, making Y/N cringe. Minho raised a brow, "Why would you like Yungyu?" Kat cut him off with a groan. "Haemin. She likes Haemin." Minho let out an "Oh" after realizing. "Okay and?" he said, making the two girls groan. "Can you gather intel, maybe? God, Minho." Kat huffed. Minho sat for a minute. "I mean, I can try, but Haemin doesn't talk about girls really." He says, leaning on the table.

"Kat, this is useless," Y/N stated, making Kat roll her eyes. "It's gonna work! Have some faith in me!" Kat pleaded. Y/N sighed, nodding, Kat smirked, turning to Minho. "Be nonchalant about it," She said, patting his shoulder. Minho sighed, "Pffft, easy-" Minho said, getting up. "I'll find you guys later," he smirked, ruffling Kat's hair, making her groan at his antics. "

Later at the end of the day, the two girls walked to their choir practice, but heard Minho running to catch up. "How bad do you think he did?" Y/N said, elbowing Kat. "It couldn't have been that bad," Kat muttered, unsure. "Well?" Kat said as Minho caught up.

"I got nothing the kid is stubborn" Minho said sucking in a sharp breath from running.

The two girls sighed, looking at each other. "It's not a no, technically," Kat said, trying to offer reassurance to Y/N, who shook her head. "It's fine, it's not that important." Y/N waved it off.

It was the day before the next big test. Y/N sat waiting for Haemin in the library. She was writing notes when she suddenly saw an iced matcha being placed in front of her with a croissant, making her look up. "What's this?" Y/N said, grabbing the cup, looking at Haemin, who settled in the chair next to her. "Motivation," he said, smiling at her, pulling out his notebook and textbook. Y/N shook her head, "How'd you know my order?" Haemin froze at the question, unsure if he should actually admit he practically begged Kat for her order. "I have my ways," he responds coolly, making Y/N laugh softly. "Sure- thank you, by the way." Haemin hummed, nodding.

"So in exchange, do you care to tell me what Minho was doing, asking me if I had a crush on you yesterday?"

Y/N choked on her drink at his sudden bluntness, making Haemin smile. "I knew I shouldn't have trusted them," Y/N groaned, embarrassed, realizing she had no choice but to come clean about her crush. "I was just curious," Y/N mumbled, making Haemin tilt his head teasingly at her. "So you employ the two worst wing-couple known to man," He laughed at her flushed cheeks. Y/N sighed leaning back in her chair defeated.

"I do like you, though."

Those words alone made Y/N's head snap up to be met with Haemin's gentle smile. "I just didn't want Minho ruining me being able to tell you," he mumbled, embarrassed. "You do?" Y/N said, looking to Haemin, biting back a smile. Haemin smiled brighter, revealing his teeth, "You think I'm just offering study sessions with every pretty girl I see?" The two laughed as Haemin intertwined their fingers. "I like you a lot, Y/N. Truly." He said his tone was laced with sincerity. "I like you a lot too, Haemin," Y/N responded, squeezing his hand lightly.

The next day was the test, Y/N's leg bounced with anxiety as she answered each question diligently. Turning it in soon, sighing as she sat down, trying to gauge by her teacher's face what her grade was. At the end of class, their tests were handed back, making Y/N swallow thickly, turning the paper to reveal the B+, making her sigh with relief. "Well, A for effort, right?" Haemin said, looking over her shoulder. "Oh, shut up, I'm happy," she laughed, stuffing the test into her bag as the bell rang.

"We should celebrate," Haemin hummed as they left the school. His arm wrapped around Y/N's waist as they walked out. "Oh yeah?" Y/N smirked, looking at him. Haemin hummed nodding,  "First good grade in history? Celebration worthy." Haemin smirked, "Call it a date," he added after a beat of silence, making Y/N laugh. "It's a date," she said, looking to Haemin, making him smile, placing a small kiss on her head as they walked to the nearest ice cream shop.
