Chapter 6: Karma

Nika

It was the next morning, and we were all sitting in the waiting room. Jade hasn't woke up yet, but it's because she has been through a lot and it's good that she is resting.

While we are waiting, we decided to watching the news, and not too long into the program. They showed us what happened to Jade. In the video we got to see Matthew Wells true colors and see that the perfect power couple from Ball State was not perfect at all.

Honestly I couldn't watch the whole video. Don't even know her and it hurts me so bad to the point I am going to have a mental breakdown. Matt doesn't deserve to be in a relationship with Jade.

At the end of the program, the news reporter said that they have arrested Matt at Ball State university. He will be facing charges and there is a court case against him.

After that we turned off the tv. A nurse comes in to tell us that we can all see her now. Everyone stood up and walked towards her room. We let her family see her before we all went in. I stood outside the room with Paige. She can tell I am taking it really hard. Paige said that we are going in there together.

When we walked into her room Jade's eyes went wide with surprise.

Jade- Not to be rude, but why are you here?

That made Paige and I smile, and Paige answered with...

Paige- We couldn't leave before knowing that our biggest fan was okay.

With that Paige handed her the shirt she signed. It makes her smile and then she looks at me straight in the eyes and asked...

Jade- why didn't you sign it too?

I didn't think you wanted me to, but I will.

Paige hands me the marker and I signed it.

Jade- thanks you guys and sorry we had to meet this way. Also I heard that you guys were amazing last night. Sorry about not seeing the second half.

It's all good Jade. Honestly the whole team is just glad that you are okay. But maybe next time you will be able to watch the whole game, and hang with us afterwards.

Jade- it's a deal.

Paige- well I hate to be that person but Nika and I have a bus to catch. But here you go. It's mine and Nika's numbers. Don't be a stranger.

With that I followed her out of the room and down the hallway. I punched her on the arm.

Paige- hey what was that for?

Giving her my number without asking. And basically telling her to message me.

Paige- but you are glad I did it anyways.

I shook my head and told her to shut up. My sister gave us a ride back to the hotel to meet the bus.

Jade

I was so surprised that Paige and Nika was at the hospital all night just for me. To be honest it makes me feel like I do matter.

The doctors told me that I had to get stitches and told me that I have a concussion. They told me that I could go back to campus today if I promise to take it easy and not participate in softball until my stitches come out in two weeks. I agreed obviously.

I let Maddie drive my car back to campus. Before I left I said goodbye to my family and told them that I will message them when I get back to campus.

Hana- I can't believe that Matt would go that far in hurting you. He definitely needs help with anger management and understanding that he can't control everything.

Definitely that's why I told the police everything he has done to me, and why he did all the things he did. I told them everything. This morning, my family got a lawyer and it turns out that Matt wasn't very careful when it came to him calling me. Apparently there are witnesses who are going to help me with my lawsuit and I have a restraining order against him. He can't touch me. Honestly I am so glad it's over. Now I can be myself and start being honest with people.

Hana- I am so happy for you Jade. Speaking of you being happy, How does it feel to have Paige's number?

It's a dream, but I don't know if I am going to use it, but since I got to know your sister a little bit better. I might have to message her to get some funny stories about you.

Hana- My sister is tough on the outside, but the more you get to know her she softens up. Except for maybe you. She really praised you during the interview during halftime.

I don't know about that, but it definitely made me seen. Honestly I think it was one of the reasons why Matt was so mad.

Hana- why do you think that? He didn't say anything about that during the video.

I just feel it in my gut that's all plus after the lawsuit I will never talk about Matt again.

Hana- agreed.

When we pulled onto campus there was a crowd of people waiting for my return. It's okay my team had my back. When we pulled up to the softball house my teammates opened the door and became my barricade. Reporters were yelling questions to me about Matt and our "relationship". Did Matt always abused you? Was the relationship a publicity stunt? And so many more until I got inside.

When I got inside I messaged my family telling them that I made it back alright. After that I messaged my management team to tell them that I will not talk about what happened until after the court date with Matt. Then I will do an interview. They agreed to it and released the statement.

Then I went to my room where I hid for the rest of the day. I fell asleep and maybe dreamed of a certain basketball player.
