chapter 07:

rose picks up her pink pen and crosses her legs.

rachel's voice on the TV fills the silence in her house.

it's early.

not earlier than 7.

she writes down;

dear de,

I've been accompanied with indescribable feelings, lately.

and I think it's because of you.

I've remembered you many times while listening to my favorite songs, while writing, and walking beside the beach.

I should have heeded the signs when I noticed how I check my watch constantly and enjoy listening to lovely the band, now.

wonderful thoughts dwell in my mind now and feel as familiar as my quick heartbeats at the sight of your starry eyes & kind smile.

it fascinates me how my soul feels connected to yours somehow now, adam.

you make me feel unafraid, brave, and dauntless to write my feelings to you.

I thank you for that.

rose, who holds you in her thoughts.

she draws some hearts next to his name.

adam and jack walk back into the hospital from their daily walk.

jack hasn't used the wheel-chair today.

he said he wanted to walk.

they see rose with finn, waiting near the reception.

adam stops shivering from the cool breeze outside, the moment he hears her laugh.

"jack, are you alright?" she goes to hug jack while adam talks with finn.

"how's your dad?" adam asks finn.

"sometimes he's okay, sometimes he wants to be isolated, you know?"

adam nods, "why haven't you brought him here, yet?"

he pats finn on his shoulder. "I'll bring him sometime this week. thanks mate."

adam hears rose's small voice, "adam."

and it feels like his favorite song has just started.

"hi love, are you feeling alright?"

'love'

and it feels like her favorite song has just started.

and adam wishes hugs were casual between them because he really wants to hug her now.

"yes, you?" she smiles, shyly shifting her weight from one foot to another.

adam replies with a "better now."

she giggles and steps closer to him and feels him crouching down to her height.

her mouth near his ear, where they are both able to smell each other's perfume.

"I have a question" she begins, before wetting her lips. "why does jack use the wheel-chair?"

he steps backwards to make eye contact. "he doesn't want to walk."

"ah, that's it. not because he's sick or anything?" her tone, afraid.

"oh, no no. not because of that." he can't help but place his hand on her arm.
