chapter 11:
adam doesn't like how his friend looks right now.
"you can leave. I'll stay with the nurses" suggests adam.
the room is full of nurses and finn doesn't like it one bit.
on any other day, he wouldn't mind having 3 nurses in one room, but not today.
finn shakes his head, "I told him that I'll stay with him."
finn's father got in the hospital at 8 o'clock and has been doing lab tests and blood tests for 2 hours.
"I'll tell him you had other patients to check on. go." adam pats his friend's shoulder.
"hey, before you go, can I ask you for a favor?" finn nods his head.
"el is with rose, right?" finn nods.
"can you take rose and jack together on a walk? and meanwhile you can maybe check your mark's old folder for me?"
finn takes a look outside the window and finds the weather not too bad for a change of workplace.
"okay" finn nods. "yeah?"
"yeah yeah, don't worry."
finn leaves and adam sits next to finn's father.
"finn got paged to go check on one of his patients" adam speaks, wretchedly.
"oh okay" finn's father says sadly.
"is he coming back, then?" he asks.
adam shrugs his shoulder, "maybe."
the nurse pulls the needle off finn's father's skin and writes something on the folder.
"all done?" asks adam.
the nurse shakes her head, "no, not yet. dr. finn asked us to inspect his kidney and liver."
the nurse passes the folder to adam to sign on behalf of finn.
"you're signing for dr. finn, correct?" adam nods and takes the black pen from her hand.
"so, you're done with the initial physical exam?" the nurse nods and takes the folder from adam's hand.
"are you hungry? do you want me to bring you anything?" adam asks finn's father, who has his hand on his forehead.
"a bit, yeah." adam nods and asks him to stand on the scale to check his weight.
adam nods to the nurse before she writes down his weight.
"I'll go grab you something to eat and be back."
the cafeteria is crowded when adam enters.
"how are you, megan? all good?" adam asks his colleague. she nods at his question.
"you're hungry as well?" she asks him as she opens her sandwich to pour ketchup on it.
"no, grabbing a bite for a patient. he did a blood test and felt dizzy." he raises the sandwich showing her.
"you're quite busy these couple of days, aren't you?" she swallows her drink.
adam nods, "many of my family friends are here, as well as my girlfriend."
he sighs, "I can't leave them on their own. but, good thing finn is here if I'm honest" laughs adam.
"girlfriend?" asks megan, raising het brows.
"yeah. rose. have you met her?" megan shakes her head.
"should I?" the tone of megan's voice is neither nice nor rude so adam stays silent and just shrugs his shoulder.
