chapter 30:

the clock hands could be interesting.

at least to rose, they could.

in a hospital, they could be described as interesting.

adam hates how he's feeling right now. not only adam, but all his friends and rose's.

"dear, would you like water?" someone asks. neither rose nor adam can make out who it is.

there are only two situations that require you to come to a hospital in a wedding dress.

for a role, a movie or a TV show episode where someone faints at a wedding and everyone goes to the hospital with their dresses and suits.

or, someone's parent is in a very very bad situation, and might die so everyone goes to the hospital with their dresses and suits.

"did you know about that?" someone asks. adam thinks it's rose's voice.

someone touches his knee and it's rose's hand. it's rose's touch.

"I asked, did you know about dad?" asks rose after adam picks his head up.

both adam and rose are sitting on the hospital's cold floor, where adam and rose's knees are bent, with adam's head on the wall and rose's on top of her bent knees.

"unwillingly. I didn't want to know" says adam.

"why didn't you say anything?" he looks at her from the corner of his eye.

"you told finn and el, but not me. why?" she continues.

"I'm sorry." rose sighs and tells adam, "this isn't a good enough answer to me, adam."

adam sighs, too. "I couldn't." sighs rose before she gets up. "where are you going?" he offers his hand to her, but she refuses his help.

"ro" he calls her name. "did you also know?" adam watches his wife asking their friends.

"we did, yeah." both finn and eliana nod.

"I need a good excuse on why no one thought of letting me know" asks rose.

she folds both her arms above her chest. "you were going to find out either way. we thought it's better to know when we come to the hospital" answers finn.

"that's selfish of you. very selfish." she sits on the chair, before adam follows her.

he sists near her. it's pathetic of adam, that he's following rose everywhere.

"you know something that I don't, and then all of you decide when I know this something that obviously has to do with me. this isn't nice. this is selfish behavior. I was supposed to know. I looked stupid" rose says, unaware that adam's hand is placed on her shoulder. rubbing softly.

"I looked stupid in my own wedding, and now my dad is going to die." she leans forward to rest her whole body on her knees, sobbing. "and it's all your fault."

she detaches her face that was placed between her knees to look at him with her tears streaming.

"angel, please don't do this" says adam.

he is cautious in what his next movements are going to be to not startle her any more than she already is.

"don't do what? you think I'm overreacting, don't you?" she gets up from her seat.

"what? no. I didn't say that-" she cuts him off, "but you want to. you want to tell me that I'm overreacting, and I shouldn't act this way because I should have known that dad is going to die, right?"
