chapter 12:
"oh, my little mouse, I missed you, you beautiful creature" says rose between kisses.
she is placing kisses on dodo's head, chest, paws, and every area she can reach.
when dodo meows, rose pouts before uttering apologies to dodo between kisses. "I'm sorry. I know I left you, but I needed to get better for you, my little mouse" says rose, causing eliana to laugh at rose's interaction with her cat.
rose left the hospital this morning. adam was busy so he asked eliana to take her home.
he broke the news to rose when she was in jack's room. her happiness wasn't complete because she had to leave jack on his own at the hospital.
she didn't even have time to say goodbye to tom. however, rose promised herself that she'll come back to visit tom as soon as she can. maybe even introduce issac to tom while she's at it.
"little mouse, this is el. el, this is my little mouse." rose introduces them to each other before eliana feels dodo's whiskers tickling her cheek. "ro, it tickles" she chuckles.
dodo goes to sniff eliana before eliana shrieks. "is that his nose? ro. ew. no." eliana doesn't like it one bit.
"he's sniffing you. he wants to trust you. let him, el." eliana waits impatiently for dodo to remove his wet nose from off her cheek.
"it's wet rose. ew."
rose laughs, "it's because he licks his nose. have you never seen a cat before?" wonders rose.
"no, I don't like them" she says as she takes her shoes off to leave it beside the door.
"your house looks so lovely" she compliments her friend's house, and rose smiles at her while taking her footwear off as well.
"are you going to help me with my interview?" asks rose as she goes to start unpacking her bag.
"of course, I will, but let's give them a call first" says eliana as she takes her phone out.
rose takes a look at dodo before she goes to check on his bowls of food and water.
"are you hungry, little mouse?" as rose lets these words out, dodo starts rotating himself around rose's body and doesn't settle down until the bowl hits the floor.
she finds a paper near her kettle with what looks like georgia's handwriting.
she opens it with eliana behind her. "did georgia leave it?" rose nods.
'hello ro, we hope you're well. we left this morning after feeding dodo. we waited until he finished his food before issac and I cleaned the kitchen for you. sam hoovered the living room and washed the dishes for you. don't worry, we took the best care of dodo. his toys are under your bed, sorry rose :) see you soon :) we love you :) georgia, sam, and sac..' reads rose. "oh, that's so cute" pouts eliana.
several hours later, rose's place has started to smell more of her baking and less of cleaning supplies.
"I'll wash the dishes. you need to get ready, ro. your interview is tomorrow. do you have an outfit planned or do you want me to help you?" says eliana before rose can even start washing the dishes.
"I don't know. is a blazer too much?" asks rose, unsurely.
"no, it's perfect. can you leave them?" eliana is frustrated when she sees rose holding the sponge and the bowl she used to mix the lemon loaf batter in.
"rose, you need to go shower before they come. we also need to prepare for your demo lesson" exclaims eliana and this time rose steps far from the sink.
