chapter 26:
it's sunday.
four days before the wedding.
four more sleeps before they sleep together in one home, one room, one bed, and under one roof.
"why are you quiet?" asks adam.
"adam, I'm so stupid" says rose with a groan.
"now, why would you say something like that, angel?" replies adam with a tsk.
he has his free hand drawing stars on her back, while her hand is stroking his hair.
"I forgot my camera. do you know how many beautiful pictures I would have been able to take if I would have brought it?" she pouts.
"and who told you, my sweet girl that your camera isn't with me? did you think that I would forget something like this?" adam smiles at her.
"where is it? do you have it with you?" she shifts from her sitting position next to him to get up.
"it's in the car." she kisses the palm of his hand.
"thank you for this wonderful arrangement, you didn't have to." she smiles beautifully at him.
"it's the least I can do, for you" he smiles beautifully at her, his dimple itching to be kissed by her.
adam decided to arrange a get-together before they get married.
he chose the restaurant him and finn love so much for how its terrace overlooks the coastline.
"you're looking after me very nicely." she kisses his dimple that has started forming on his left cheek.
"you're very kind, de, do you know that? wouldn't want to be married to anyone in the world than you." he engulfs her body tighter to his.
"my beautiful girl. my most beautiful one" he says as he goes to place kisses on her temple.
adam couldn't stop staring at rose the whole night.
she's wearing a silk-two-piece skirt and an off-shoulder piece in mulberry-purple.
he got scolded by her when he took so long to grab her camera, but he really couldn't resist leaving her.
for one minute, even.
seeing her so happy makes his heart warm and ache at the same time.
when he sees her looking at her father from across the room, coughing or scrunching his eyes shut because of the pain he is in, it makes his heart ache. so much.
"I think you did a good thing in arranging something this beautiful for all of us." georgia comes to sit near adam.
"it was finn's idea, honestly" adam gives credit to his friend.
"it's nice that everyone could come" says sam. "I'm surprised everyone did, honestly" he smiles, looking at everyone sitting close to one another in the terrace overlooking the lonely sea and moon.
"do you mind switching, son?" rose hears her dad ask adam.
"not at all" replies adam.
she watches adam move his chair next to issac's, while her father taking adam's seat, next to her.
"are you happy?" asks steve. "so so happy. my heart is so full of love that I feel like I need another heart. it's going to explode." she laughs.
"this is all i wanted to hear." he sips on his water. "I'm so proud of you, sweetheart. so proud."
