Chapter 24

2 weeks later
Today I was in court testifying for my ex husband. I knew that if I didn't who would be in jail but it wouldn't be right because he had two young kids that would understand. When Emily saw her dad enter the building she ran and hugged him. He picked her up as I greeted him and his soon to be wife. Gavin was on his mom and you could tell she was pregnant now. David asked if Emily could sit with him during the hearing I shook my head and grabbed her bag. Emily still wasn't fully recovered from the incident so she needed breathing treatment thru out the day.
Back at home
Sylvie's pov
I had just woken up Emily was right beside me still asleep and Zane was at work. I watched Emily sleep for a while before looking at my phone. I realized the I had one voicemail from David.
David's Voicemail
Hey, thank for testftying today but that's not why I called. I was hoping you could find someone to babysit Emily and maybe you could come grab a beer with me. I actually live down here now and on the weekends I'm in New York with Gavin and Star. Star and I just needed more money so when the perfect opportunity came she told me to accept it. Also we postponed the wedding but hit me back up if you can grab a beer with me.
Slvie's Pov
I texted Zane asking him if he could watch Emily tonight and then I texted David saying meet me at Molly's by Nine tonight. Zane said sure and that he would bring dinner home.
That night
At Molly's
Sylvie's POV
When I finished putting g my lipstick on I opened the door to Molly's. David had already arrived and ordered a beer I saw Gabby guessing Matt got the responsibility of pitting Baby Tanner to sleep. David gave me a hug and then bought a beer for me. I talked to David while we waited for the beers. Gabby bought two beers two the table and looked at me with a confused look. I told her I would explain later. After two beers David had offered to drive me home. Of course Zane had dropped me off and I knew he was probably putting her to sleep so I said yes. David first went t OK his house he said he had to get something for Emily. He told me I could come in if I wanted. When I walks din I sat on the couch as he went in his room to grab what he needed for Gabby. I walked in the kitchen to look around while I was looking at a picture. He wrapped his hand around my waist and started kissing my neck. I tried to resist but after awhile we were taking each other clothes off and heading into his room. He pushed me on the bed and then jumped on top of me we both moaned and groaned as we kissed each other on the neck and just had a good time.
The next morning
Sylvie's pov
I had woke up and looked beside me. I didn't see David but I smelled food. Before I headed into the kitchen I found a pair of sweats and white pants and put them on. When David saw me we both smiled at each other. He had gave me a cup of wine andthree pancakes with a bowl of fruit salad. This time I when in for the kiss we had been making out on the couch for at least half an hour. When I saw what time it wass I knew that I would miss work if I didn't get a move on. David grabed his keys and I grabbed my pwarm pancakes and fruit. When David pulled into the station Gabby had just got our of her car. I gave David a kiss and got out of the car and waited for Gabby. When I looked at my text messages from Zane I lied to him saying I was at Gabby's and that David would take care of Emily today. I then had to text David to go tell him to pick up Emily. When Gabby finally caught up to me she was pretty much telling me the story instead of me telling her the story. When we walked in the firehouse I headed straight to my lockers and grabbed my substitute clothes while Gabby went in Matt's office to catch up on her rest..
