Gabby's POV
Casey and Severide had wheeled the little boy out. I grabbed the ladies hand and told her to follow me. She ran with me to her son.
Gabby: is this your son
Lady: yes his name is Jacob
I got on top of the gurney as people started to surround me and started C.P.R. The mom started to run to the gurney but Chief held her back so I could treat her son effectively.
10 minutes later
Severide's POV
Gabby had been doing C.P.R for ten minutes Chilli told Gabby to let her take over but Gabby refused.
Gabby: Come on Jacob
Gabby: Come on
Gabby: COME ON JACOB!!!!!!!
I looked at Chilli and she looked at me.
Chilli: Time of Death 1:45
Gabby kept going despite the fact that Chilli had called the time of Death.
Casey's POV
I grabbed Gabby and removed her from the gurney she hit me in my chest as I grabbed her and pulled her into a hug. After a while her hand dropped from hitting me in my chest and she placed her head on my chest and cried. I held her tight letting her cry in my chest as they prepped to cover the little boy.
Chief Boden POV
I let the mom go see her son one more time. She kissed him on his forehead and squeezed his hand.
Ever since I had lost my wife it had been harder for me when deaths did occur on the job.
I went over to the grieving mom and pulled her into a hug she kept asking me why this happened. And I told her we all had a destination in life. I cried with her as they covered the body and the firefighters gathered their equipment.
