Chapter 32

Next shift
Cruz's POV
Guys I have an announcement to make I told everyone. Everyone turned and stared at me including Chief Boden came out of his office. Well guys I have enjoyed all my time at firehouse 51 but I am going back to the Marines. I knew I wanted to go back I just had injured myself and they gave me a year off. As soon as I finished the buzzered went off Truck 81, Squad 3, Ambulance 61, Battalion 25 all units that can assist. Walik College 6578 Du tman street.
At the scene
Gabby's POV
When Sylvie and I got there most people on the campus were running everywhere. We had got our and started to assist people. One lady resisted treatment but every one on the campus had to be treated and couldn't leave until treated. The lady fussed as two firefighters placed her on the gurney. The firefighters watched us to make sure we wouldn't need assistance. When the lady was on the stretcher we made sure she was pinned down but just as Sylvie went to pin down her feet she kicked Sylvie in the stomach. I ran by Sylvie to see if she was OK she told me she was ok. I helped her up and then we went back to taking care of the lady.
Cruz's POV
When some of the fire was out after two hours Chief sent Severide and Casey in to the building to search one of the floors because only lieutenants were allowed in the building. After thirty minutes most lieutenants had returned back with their fire family but where were our lieutenants. When I saw the building that they were in catch on fire I ran beside Chief to ask him what happened. He told us to put water on the fire as he repeatedly called Casey and Severide on their walkies. When Gabby and Sylvie returned I could tell how scared Gabby was. I put my arm around her neck as she leaned into my chest and started crying. When I saw Casey and Severide come rushing out I shook Gabby as Matt and Gabby ran towards each other. It made me smile to see how in love they were. I
Matt's POV
When I saw Gabby I just hugged her. We stood there for a while as all the other firehouses gathered around Firehouse 81. Gabby looked at me and said are job is risky so I can't say don't get hurt but I can say sometimes this job is really worth the struggles. When she said that I looked into her eyes then she and I kissed. I didn't know how many times we were going to have all happy and sunshine but I did know that when I was with Gabby I was happy and nothing would ever change.
Back at the station
Severide's POV
Guys! Guys! I yelled as o was trying to get everyone at Firehouse 81 attention. Tonight Joe Cruz's goodbye party will be held at Molly's and one free round on me. Everyone cheered as I patted Cruz on the back and headed off to the lockers. That last fire lasted until 7:30 so we were all swearing and dirty. Everyone took showers at work so they could go straight to Molly's Gabby and Casey had said that they could have more fun at home int he shower. We all laughed as we tooked turns taking showers.
