A heavy steel wall with a vault like door. Luc turned the handle which seemed terribly heavy and opened it. Like a huge safety box from a bank. —Clear the room. –He said before I could have a peek at what was going on inside that vault.
Around 10 people left the room with the usual greetings "Sir." "Sir." "Yes Sir." I laughed a bit in my mind. It sounded so absurd to think about Luc as a super soldier or something like that.
We walked into a room that must have been 100 ft long and wide. No windows. Floor, walls and ceiling were completely made of steel. I turned around to inspect the room, it was completely sealed.
—Are you planning to lock me in here? –I raised one eyebrow.
—I need to understand what you are, Cas. This room is completely sealed, even the oxygen you are breathing is induced artificially into the vault. If there's any Witch side to you, your powers will not work here.
—Ok, so let me help you out here. I already know what I am. I've... trained. With him before.
He looked angy. —With a vamp? What could you have learnt from a vamp? –He turned around.
As soon as he did I jumped him and pressed his back against the floor. I placed my body on top of his and my hand on his neck. —Quite a lot, you know?
He pushed in the stomach with his other hand and my body flew across the room and into the opposite wall. —It's not enough.
—Ok so how about this. –I said out loud and then to his mind. –Kneel.
I saw the struggle in his face and then he fell on his knees to the floor. I crossed my arms and looked at him.
—Mind Omnia. –He said.
—And Witch. —I replied.
—And we already know... Vampire. –He pointed up the hand I had drunk blood from.
–Yami. –I joked and licked my lip.
—There's one more left. Can either be syggrafea, soul rider or...wof wof.. wolf.
—Soul rider? WOLF? –I kinda was a bit excited about being a wolf to be honest.
—When you killed the hunters, did you feel something? As if your soul had gotten into them? –He asked seriously.
I laughed. —No Luc haha, my soul was comfy in my own body.
—So wolf it is.
—Why not syggrafea?? I'm a writer after all! Or was. I should really call my editors. —Not the time to think about that Cas.
—Your mind would be flooded with images and feelings from other beings. You are not one of them.
—So I'm a wolf?!
—Why do you sound... excited? –He was perplexed and tilted his head like a dog.
—Don't know! A wolf, who doesn't love them, they are like dogs, but smarter.
—They are horrible useless creatures.
—Hey! Don't talk like that about "my pack" –yes, I air quoted that one.
—Shut up Cas. –He laughed.
—So how can we be sure? Full moon? –I'd watched too many movies.
—It's wolf Cas. Can't be anything else.
—Wolf Cas. –I repeated. —I like that.
—God. –He sighted.
He'd never liked my jokes.
—I'm a witch, a vamp, a mind omnia and a wolf. That's cool right?
—None of them can kill a hunter, so we still know nothing about what you are. There's no record on how everything works together. That's what we need to understand. Try and hurt me, like you did at your house. –He said.
—No. No chance Luc.
—You can't kill me here. Nothing dies here.
—I don't know how I did it...
—Try.
—I wouldn't know where to start.
—Think about it, think about hurting me.
I closed my eyes and tried to do as he wanted. I thought about it. "Come on Cas, hurt him. He is a killer. He killed people. He hurt you, he hurt James, he made you leave Idris." This last one got me quite angry.
Luc fell to the floor in pain and his struggling sounds woke me up from my thoughts.
—That was it. –He said. —What did you do?
I didn't want to tell him. What my trigger was. I thought that would hurt him once more.
—I don't know... I just... thought about it.
—It's a step forward, do you think you can do it again?
—I think... no. I don't think I can control it to be honest.
—When you trained with... him... –He paused and swallowed. —What did you discover about your other powers?
—I'm a very strong Mind Omnia and I think even stronger Witch.
—Ok, we'll introduce you as a Witch to everyone here. For now, keep your other powers hidden. Don't be strong, don't be fast, and don't make people do stuff. Just be a regular Witch.
—A regular Witch, that's something I wasn't expecting to hear in my lifetime. –I smiled.
—I'm being serious Cas.
–Yes Sir!
—Fucksake. –He walked past me and towards the door.
—Luc wait. –I caught his arm.
He looked at me.
—Thank you. –I said and pressed on his arm.
—Yeah. Let's go, it's time you meet some people. –He let go of my hand and continued walking, he resisted my touch any time I got near.
A man was waiting for us outside the vault. He was tall and blonde with blue eyes. He looked strong. He was wearing the same black clothes as we were.
He looked at me.
— Witch. –Luc said to him.
—You are bodyguarding a witch now brother? That's a new low. Even for someone like you.
—Casiopea. –He said, looking at me. —This is Angus. My brother.
—So you are the nice one. –I extended my hand.
He didn't take my hand. —What type of witch are you? –He looked at me as if he was inspecting me. Confused but deadly serious.
—We are figuring that out. –Luc interrupted. —Let's go Cas.
—Bjorn. You shouldn't be here. –Angus said with a deep voice.
—This is my home. –He said defiantly.
—Not anymore brother. You are a disgrace for our family.
Luc stood right in front of Angus' face. —Don't you think I know that? I'm a disgrace to my own self, brother. But I'm here now, and I'm not going anywhere, so you better get used to it.
Angus took a deep breath and moved to the side allowing us to pass through.
—And THAT'S why you didn't ever introduce me to my brother in law. –I whispered to Luc.
—Shut up Cas.
I did and kept walking.
