"More syrup for milady?" Luke turned to Haley who smiled. "Why, thank you, kind sir." She replied as Luke gave her the syrup and she poured some more onto her pancakes. It was coming near to the end of summer, which had turned out quite perfectly.Maddie and her family had always gone on vacation with the Dunphy's, Tucker's and Pritchett's family, but this year for the first time Maddie got to go on vacation with just her family.
Even though Maddie could tell it was out of guilt, she still loved it. By that she meant after the vacation her parents had to go back to one of their offices in New York and Callie had to start working more as she took two weeks off of work, so Maddie spent her time at the Dunphy's house.
Alex had gone to build houses for the poor so it was just Claire, Phil, Luke, Haley and Maddie at the house and it was surprisingly relaxing and nothing chaotic had happened yet. Nobody got into arguments, people were nice, they all did stuff together. Haley's fashion blog had also started blowing up and she had started doing live video chats and had gained over 50,000 subscribers.
"Claire, do we still have any of those cookies that Luke and Maddie baked?" Phil asked hopefully as Claire looked at her husband and the kids with a serious expression. "Are we really the kind of family that has cookies for breakfast?"
"Yes, we are!" She grinned as she got out of her seat to go get them and everyone laughed happily. "Look a butterfly!" Maddie gasped as an orange butterfly fluttered above the table. Everyone watched in awe as the butterfly flew out of the window. "I love nature!" Haley grinned as she stood up and offered to put everyone's plates in the dishwasher, that's how unusual everyone was acting.

"And now, as my lovely assistant joins me, it's time to chant the incantation that will send this fair maiden into the sixth dimension." Phil covered Claire with his cape as Luke, Haley and Maddie began saying the chant.
"Did I do it? Did I disappear?" Claire asked excitedly, yet you could still see her head poking out from her spot. "Almost, just a little bit of forehead." Phil told his wife as the doorbell rang. Maddie opened the door to se Mitchell standing there. "Hi Mitchell! Come in."
"Hi everyone." He waved as Luke came over. "Sweet! You brought the sifter!" Luke hugged his uncle as Mitchell stood there not actually understanding what was going on. "Aw! Now we can start my rhubarb pie." Maddie grinned as Luke took the sifter from Mitchell.
"Ooh, can I help pick the rhubarb?" Haley asked excitedly as Maddie nodded. "Of course! The more the merrier!" Haley squealed in excitement as she, Maddie and Luke walked into the kitchen.
Not too much later Haley knocked something over in the kitchen and smashed it. "No! That was our lunch!" Maddie gasped as Luke groaned in annoyance. "Careful, you idiot!"
"You're both the idiots!" Haley screamed back. "I'm the idiot? Have you seen my report cards?"maddie retorted before Haley left the kitchen and slammed the door dramatically. So instead of a homemade Rhubarb pie for lunch they had a salad and sandwiches.
Alex had arrived home a week early and at dinner she made sure everyone knew why. "And last night, my tent ripped so I had to sleep under a plywood board leaning up against a van."
"Pass my a napkin." Haley demanded looking at Maddie who frowned. "Is milady's arm broken?" Luke snapped at his sister. "Your's is about to be." She fired back as Claire looked out the back door and into the garden. "Aww, precious flowers."
"Not that I could sleep with all the rats. And, by the way I'd any of you start coughing up blood, my bad. I think I brought back the plague." Alex replied sarcastically as Maddie cringed. "Is that gross to you Maddie? Is it?" Alex fired at Maddie who scoffed and rolled her eyes. "What am I doing? I think u left my backpack in the driveway."Alex ran to the front door as Haley moaned. "Stop kicking me!"
