"Okay, come on people. We need fresh ideas for this week. Alice, go." Leslie Kwan Collins pointed at the blonde girl who bit her bottom lip as she began thinking. "Too slow, Reuben?" Leslie questioned the boy. "Well I beat the lunch la-""Reuben, for the last time, nobody cares about your chess matches with the lunch lady. Maddie?" Leslie turned to the brunette who frowned slightly before remembering something. "Oh! I was talking with Sebastian Ryder in biology and he said that Eric Thompson randomly resigned as student council president."
"Oh yeah! Isn't Manny running for it now?" Alice peered across the table at Maddie who nodded. "Yes, that's good. Okay, does anyone know why he resigned?" Leslie began tapping her notebook impatiently as everyone else who was involved in reporting, editing or writing for the school paper shrugged.
"Actually, Georgia Harrison told me that he was caught selling school saxophones on Craigslist. Although she was high when she told me, so someone might wanna confirm that before we publish it." Riley Bird informed the group and Leslie announced that she was just going to go and find Principal Brown and question him about the incident.
There was an awkward silence that invaded the room that was soon broken by Reuben Rand. "Anyone wanna come watch me play chess with-"
"No." The three girls replied simultaneously before the silence returned.Around 10 minutes later, Leslie waltzed in."Okay people, I didn't get an answer on wether it was true or not, but we can just state in the article that 'it has been rumoured that..,' or 'our sources have told us that...' something like that. Also, I have a subtitle for that section all sorted. 'Sax scandal'"
Leslie announced proudly and everyone in the room gave the dark haired girl a small nod towards her word play.

"Well, I personally think that it is not true." Maddie began as she walked down the school hallway, next to Manny, who chuckled lightly as he shook his head. "Oh, please. Honestly, I'm not even surprised that-"
Manny finished his sentence with an abrupt gasp and Maddie's eyebrows furrowed together. "What? Are you okay?" Maddie questioned frantically before looking in the direction he was facing and her eyes widened slightly. "Oh..."
"Oh? Oh?!" Manny mocked the brunette slightly and Maddie turned back to him. "Luke's running for student council president?" She pondered as Manny looked at her.
"Apparently so! And look! He stuck his flyer right over mine! That little...argh!" Manny let out a frustrated groan before storming off down the hallway. "Manny, wait! For fucks sake." Maddie complained before making her way over to her locker. Wasn't this great.
Her two best friends, who also happened to be related, decided to run up against each other for student council president. This meant there was gonna be some big argument and Maddie would have to take a side, but what side would she pick?
On one hand, there was Manny. Manny would most likely be a better student council president. He got good grades, devoted most of his life to public service and is involved in quite a lot of non-mandatory school activities. However not many students actually liked him very much, this was demonstrated when Manny lost the last election.
On the other hand, there was Luke. Luke wouldn't be a bad student council president, he just doesn't focus on his academics as much as Manny does. For example, he's not passing many classes and isn't involved in any non-mandatory school activities. But it's more likely for Luke to win as overall, most students find Luke more fun.
