"Okay. Now tell us what happened." Somi said while crossing her arms.
She arrived at my house together with Jisoo after Jennie left. Jennie called them to comfort me for sure.
"Speak. Let us know what's happening. Talked to Jennie but all she did was sob on the phone. She must be in the plane now." Jisoo was eager to know.
Here I am, drinking a bottle of beer while staring and following the cloud as it moves.
"I am still in love with Jennie Kim." I said.
"We know." They both said in unison.
"Tell us something we do not know." Jisoo is forcing me.
"We—
we had sex."
I said.
"I already expected that." Somi said and chuckled.
"And then?" Jisoo is really pressuring me.
"She said she loves me. Then I felt so scared right after. And I told her that it was just sex and it didn't mean a thing." I told them.
"Fuck it. If I were Jennie, I would slap you so hard!" Jisoo is already angry.
"Can I slap you, Lisa?" Somi added.
"You don't have any idea what Jennie had been through. You two should have talked about it instead of fucking." My sister really knows something. But sometimes I would love to staple her mouth.
"I couldn't control it. I have been so attracted to her the moment I saw her again. Man, look at her.
She's my Jennie Kim."
I said in my weak voice.
"She's no longer yours. She's so in love with you that she easily gave herself to you but what did you do?
She's a kind and fragile woman, Lisa.
This is not just all about you."
Somi slapped me so hard with her words.
"I want to marry her."
I said.
"Are you really sure? Just because you tasted her and took what she has been saving for after marriage, you already want to marry her? Can I tell a story?"
I looked at my sister and she is a bit anxious.
"Jennie, broke up with you
because her father threatened to fire our parents from work. Not only that, Jennie was physically abused by her Dad because she fought for you so many times. He even threatened her to kill you in a snap if she won't stay away from you. We know how powerful her father was and how Jennie was so in love with you back then. She was young that time and scared too. She only had you. She had you as her world. I witnessed everything between the two of you, Lis. She couldn't tell you the real reason because she knows you will do everything to fight for her even if it would reach to the point that you would risk your life too.
We all know who was Mr. Kim before and what were his capabilities.
But you know what happened two years after you and Jennie broke up?"
I couldn't move. My heart is terribly aching knowing what my ex-girlfriend had been through. She had been emotionally and physically abused because of me.
I looked at Somi telling her to continue.
Jisoo walked to the kitchen and went back with a glass of warm water for me.
"Mr. Kim had an accident. He was trapped by his competitor in business. He survived, but after a few months from his accident, his businesses were falling until it all went bankrupt.
Lisa, Jennie had to work her ass off to finish her studies and as well as her siblings'. Her mother became so sick too that she couldn't find a job. So, Jennie had to do it for her family and for her studies.
She experienced a lot of hardships.
She experienced to be a public toilet cleaner, waitress, cook, fast food restaurant assistant; all the part time jobs you can name. My god. She was young. Just for her to finish her studies and feed her family, she did all that.
She even accepted date proposals from Advertising Agency guys so she can have a place in the modeling and endorsement industry. Because she's going to earn bigger. But don't worry, she just dated each one of them once and never let them come near her after.
