In that moment, a sense of comfort enveloped Haseena, and Karishma guided her gently to the couch, handing her a glass of water. As Karishma was about to move away, Haseena gently held her hand, silently conveying her need for her presence. With a tender expression, Haseena began to share a deeply personal part of her life. "Abbu aur Ammi ki ek lauti aulad hone ki wajah se bada protective environment mein badi hui thi. Jo humne aapko bataya hi tha. Abbu ka maan tha ki humein duniya ki saari khushiyan milni chahiye, kabhi koi dukh pareshani hum tak aane hi nahi di unhone."Karishma sat attentively beside her, giving her space to open up while Haseena continued, "I always had a dream to pursue CA. I cleared my CA foundation and intermediate exams. I was waiting for my graduation result, and then I had a plan for a three-year articleship before appearing for my CA final. I remember vividly when I secured the top position in my college during the final exams. The happiness was indescribable. It felt like I was moving closer to my goals. But little did I know that it was the last day of happiness that would be followed by the darkest time of my life."
A shadow of sadness passed over Haseena's face as she reminisced about those days. "Jaise hi ghar pahuche aur Abbu k haath mein result thamaya, unhone hamare haath mein hamare liye aaye potential suitor ki tasveer rakh di. Humein na kuch samajh hi nahi aa raha tha k Abbu aise achanak se hamare rishte ki baat kyu kar rahe hai." She paused, her eyes gazing into the past, lost in memories, and then with a heavy sigh, she continued, "Pehli baar humne Abbu k faisle ki khilafat ki. I felt trapped. It seemed like all my aspirations and dreams were overshadowed by this sudden demand for marriage. I was torn between my dreams and family expectations." Her voice quivered as she shared the turmoil of that moment, "Ammi ne humein baad mein bataya k Abbu ko 4th stage cancer hai, aur unka bachna namumkin hai...... Sach kahe toh tab hamare pairo tale jaise zameen hil gayi. Hamare abbu jin mein humari duniya basti thi, unke bagair jeene ke baare mein hum soch bhi nahi sakte the, woh aise kaise humein shod k ja sakte the. Usdin pata chala k zindagi kabhi bhi kaise bhi rukh badal sakti hai. Hum bahut roye, allah tallah se shikayat ki, par akhir main abbu k liye humne hamare sapno ki kurbani dene ka faisla kiya. Kaise nahi mante unki akhari khawaish, woh toh bas apni ek lauti beti ka ghar baste dekhna chahte the."
Karishma's heart went out to Haseena, understanding the weight of those unfulfilled dreams and the clash between tradition and personal aspirations. She remained silent, letting Haseena continue to unravel her story.
"Lucknow ke bahut bade ghar ka rishta tha, isliye Abbu ko laga k hamari bachi khush rahegi aur sapne toh nikah k baad bhi pure ho sakte hai. Par yahi hamari Abbu ki sab se badi galti thi, woh kya hai na Raaisi na sab kuch kharid sakti hai par khushiya nahi." Haseena's voice began to waver as she recounted the past, and her breath became uneven. Karishma could sense the magnitude of her pain, and she reached out to hold Haseena's hand, offering silent support. Haseena, her emotions contained but still visibly shaken, continued, "Aur humare zindagi mein aaye Siddique's, lucknow mein bahut bada naam aur rutba tha unka. Unke sabse chote bete Aaris Siddique se hamara nikah tay hua tha. Ek do baar mile the nikah se pehle, par kisi ki asliyat thodi na samajh aati hai. Abbu ko laga Aaris aur uska parivar hamara waise hi dhyan rakhega jaise unohne rakha tha. Aur kuch hi dino mein hamara nikah ho gaya. Jaise hi unke ghar pahuche, saas-sasur ne apne rang dikha diye. Kaha ki Abbu ne kitna kam kharcha kiya shaadi mein, hum kitna kam saman laye hain mayke se. Aur to aur, damad ko sirf ek showroom diya unhone, unke 5 cars k showroom mein se. Hum chaunk gaye the unlogo ki baatein sunke. Woh showroom ki chain banane mein hamare Abbu ki zindagi nikal gayi thi, fir bhi unhone rishte k khatir woh aapne damad ko de diya. Uske qadar karne ke badle, wo log hamare Abbu aur Ammi ko kos rahe the."
