Chapter 76

"Krishu!" shouted Pushpaji angrily as she started to run behind Karishma to hit her.

"Meri pyaari Amma, ek baar baat toh suniye," tried saying Karishma while running around the room.

"Hey Shivji kaisi matlabi aulad di hai aapne mujhe," murmured Pushpaji in irritation between the chase.

"Amma, aap hinsa karti hui achhi nahi lagti!" shouted Karishma as she ran to Haseena, who had just come down the stairs.

"Ruk ja tu, abhi batati hoon," replied Pushpaji while throwing a cushion at her.

While shielding herself, Karishma stood behind Haseena, using her as a shield to protect herself from her mother's wrath.

"Sharam.... sharam kar, Krishu, apni biwi ke peeche chhup rahi hai," said Pushpaji while catching her breath. "Idhar aa, tujhe batati hoon."

Karishma held Haseena's waist tightly, while Haseena, in confusion, asked, "Ek min, yahan ho kya raha hai,'' at the same time Pushpaji threw a cushion at Karishma to hit her.

"Puch isko puch kya kar k aaye hai ye," yelled Pushpaji in frustration.

"Krishu kya kiya aapne?" Haseena asked, narrowing her eyes and glaring at Karishma who was still standing behind her

Before Karishma could respond, Pushpaji blurted out, "Shaadi ke liye sirf ek haftay ki chutti sanction karwa k aayi hai." Haseena glanced at Karishma, and she nodded in agreement while Pushpaji continued, "Sab kuch mujhe hi samjhana padega, aur upar se date ke liye khud hi haan kahi thi."

Karishma tried to pacify by saying, "Ha Amma, par accident ki wajah se meri saari chhuttiyan consume ho gayi hai, isliye is saal ki saari chuttiyan khatam ho gayi hai. Aur recently, mujhe promotion mila hai, ab aap bataiye, kya karu main?"

"Nahi mujhe kuch nahi pata, matlab shaadi hote hi tu duty join karegi, fir Haseena ko honeymoon ke liye ghoomane kab leke jayegi," blurted out Pushpaji, sitting on the couch and holding her head in frustration.

They both were stunned, and a crimson spread across both of their faces. Karishma loosened her grip over Haseena and went towards Pushpaji, saying, "I am sorry, Amma, par job hai mera, aur sach mein agar mere bas mein hota toh chhutti nahi leti kya main ??"

"Krishu, you guys have been through a lot, and I just wish you to have an amazing life ahead. Woh sab karo jo tumhare aarman hai," said Pushapji in a concerned and dejected tone.

"Aree, humari hone wali sasu maiya kitni pyaari hai jo humare liye itna soch rahi hai," said Haseena, sitting beside Pushpaji and holding her hand. She continued, "Aap se ek baat kehte hai, humne khudko inke job challenges aur schedule k liye mentally taiyar kar liya hai. Aur yakeen maniye humein pata hai inke duty k bahar ka sara time sirf hamara hai, aur ye aise na kare toh aap hai na."

Pushpaji smiled faintly as Haseena reassured her, saying, "Pushpee aap itna mat sochiye aur pareshan toh bilkul mat hoiye kyuki aapko bhi pata hai hum ek pilot se shaadi kar rahe hai aur aapki beti humein puri duniya ghumane ka wada already kar chuki hai so aapko tension lene ki koi zaroorat nahi hai."

Karishma quickly interjected, stating, "Meri pyaari amma, maine sab planned kiya hai. Aapki bahu ko har saal ek international aur ek domestic trip karaungi. Aur haan, saal mein ek baar hum family trip bhi karenge. Kya kehti hain aap?"

"Nahi tum dono ghumna, main yahaan ghar mein mast aaram karungi. Waise bhi, mujhe thoda break milega tujhse, ab koi aur tujhe sambhallega," teased Pushpaji, winking at her.

"Ya Allah, ye toh na-insaafi hai," Haseena resorted overdramatically in Pushpaji's style and added, "Hum bhi break deserve karte hain inse."

Karishma's eyes widened while Pushpaji, in her overdramatic style, replied, "Koi nahi, bahu rani, hum iske duty pe jaane ke baad mast burai karenge, tu fikar mat kar."
