It's been three long days since I kicked Keith to the curb, and I've been keeping myself locked away from everyone. He had to head back to New York for work anyway. People out there probably thought I was having a grand ol' time with my hubby in New York. But the reality? I've been stuck in my bed, drowning in a damn storm of tears and emotions. I couldn't even bring myself to call my mom, fearing she'd see me as a total wife failure. And friends? Nah, I couldn't stomach their sympathetic "I'm sorry's" or pity.

But there's been one person on my mind – not just for the sex, but because he gets it. So, I finally gathered the guts to peel myself out of bed, grabbed my phone, and dialed his number.

The phone rang, it felt like eternity, but it was just three seconds before he picked up. I tried to sound cool, hiding the crack in my voice.

Q-dawg: "Hello?"

Me: "Quincy, I hope I didn't catch you at a bad time."

Q-dawg: "Nah, you good, what's going on? I hit you up a few days ago."

Me: "I know, I'm sorry. Listen, if you're not too swamped, can you come over?"

He must've heard the strain in my voice because he didn't hesitate one bit.

Q-dawg: "I'll be there in 30 minutes."

After hanging up, I did my usual thing. Brushed my teeth, got under a hot shower, and doused myself in that vanilla milk-scented body oil. Then, I sat my ass down on my bed, twirling my wedding ring around my finger. My gaze landed on a photo of Keith and me from when he asked the big question. We were all smiles back then, but now... well, things had sure taken a different turn.

Sitting there on the edge of the bed, I slipped the photo face down into the nightstand drawer right next to my ring.

I strolled downstairs, needing something to take the edge off, so I grabbed a bottle of Pinot Noir red wine. Some smooth R&B tunes playing low in the background, I kicked back on my couch, cradling the wine glass in my hand, waiting for Quincy to pull up.

I was having a drink with my brother, Justin, when my phone started buzzing like crazy. Ryan's name lit up the screen, and I knew I had to step out for this one.

"Justin, I'll be right back, I gotta take this."

"Damn, Karruche calling again? That chick is annoying." Justin said sipping on his drink.

I didn't bother responding to him. I just stepped outside for some peace and quiet.

Talking to Ryan on the phone, I could sense the sadness in her voice. When she asked me to come over, I didn't even have to think twice. I shot Justin a quick text, letting him know I had a meeting and just in case Karruche had a plan to check on me through Justin, I text her the same thing.

Driving to Ryan's place, I couldn't help but wonder what was going on. Sure, I missed her – not just in a physical way, but we were good friends, always had these deep conversations.

"Guess I will find out once I'm there. I continued to vibe out out to the music with my windows and drop top down.
