Conrad POV:
One second I am standing in the middle of the room and the next I am swinging a punch across Tae's face. I hear gasps throughout the whole room as Tae falls onto the ground and I get on top of him.
"Hey, let go man," some guy says behind me as he tries to pull me off of Tae. The last thing I should be doing right now is hitting a guy since I got fined for it last time. But man, some people just need a hit across the face at times. And this time, not only does he deserve a hit across the face, he also deserves several punches in his gut and a kick in the balls.
"Fuck off," I say, as I push him away.
"Are you insane, what the hell," Tae says while whipping the blood off of his nose.
"Hey," I holler towards him while slapping his face to look towards me.
"Don't you fucking dare touch, or even get near her, ever again. Do you hear me" I holler as he lays his head back and sighs heavily.
"Or what," he says with a chuckle.
Or me getting a fine would turn to me being in jail.
I give him another punch across the face and throw him against the floor. He looks up towards me and laughs.
"You're a fucking coward. You're this man over some girl," he says, while sitting up and chuckling. Some guys goes over to him and help him up.
"She's not just some fucking girl,"
"What is she then, a fucking man?" he says, which makes him and his friends laugh as though he just said the best joke in the century.
"She's Olivia Del La Cruz, an amazing fucking woman that derserves more than a bastard like you, and frank, I'm not even surprised you don't realize that with how unsophisticated you are,"
I start to walk away, pushing through the crowd, since I know that if I don't walk away now, I will in fact fuck him up.
"So who does she deserve then? You?" he hollers from across the room. I turn around and look at him, with his smile that is full of ego. He must think everything he says out of his mouth is flawless, even the bullshit he says.
"Never in a million years. She deserves someone a million times better than me,"
I head out the door and sigh, looking at my knuckles which are now red.
At least this time I ain't get stopped.
I look around to see if Olivia is anywhere, but all I can see is some other random teenagers walking around.
I call out her name as I walk around the block, but I don't see her anywhere.
How in the hell did she walk so far away in a matter of a couple of minutes.
I start to call her, in hopes she picks up, but instead it leads me straight to her voicemail the second it rings.
Where are you?- sent to Olivia
I look around some more as I wait for her to answer.
"Come on ,Olivia," I say to myself as I dial her number on my phone and walk across the block to try to find her.
"I'll be there in a few ," I hear someone say from an alleyway. I quickly run towards it and see Olivia sitting on some steps. I sigh in relief and walk towards her as she places her phone in her purse.
"Liv," I say, as I catch my breath from running.
She looks up at me with a shocked look on her face. I can see her take a deep breath in and out as she looks down at the ground again.
I crouch down towards her and place my hands on her knees.
"Are you alright?" I say, then realizing how much of a stupid question that was.
"I-I've got to get going," she suddenly says as she gets up and looks around.
"Wait, where are you-" she doesn't respond, but instead starts to walk quickly out of the alleyway and to who-knows-where.
I follow behind her, trying to catch up and talk to her.
"Are you alright? I mean what he did is shitty and-"
"I'm fine, don't worry about it," she says without stopping and with no expression on her face. I can see as she frantically goes on her phone and starts to type something. Then she starts to look up at the street names and place her phone up in the air.
Suddenly, I can hear a loud thunder from behind us which makes her jump.
"We should probably take my car then, if you have to go" I say, but she continues to walk, as if she has tuned out the whole world and is stuck in her head.
"Hey, hey, hey," I say, standing in front of her and stopping her from walking. As I look at her face, I can see that her eyes are stinging red and she is on the verge of tears.
"It's alright, we can-"
"I have to go to the hospital," she suddenly says, which catches me off guard.
"What?"
She sighs and places her hands on her head.
"My mom. She's at the hospital and my grandma called me and I got to go now and how the hell do I get there quickly, I don't know. The bus takes off in the morning so-"
I place both of my hands on her shoulders, trying to calm her down, since she is on the verge of hyperventilating.
"Please, breathe. I'll take you,"
She lets out a deep breath and places her phone in her purse.
"Thank you, really," she says with a smile, but I can still see the fear and worry in her eyes. I grab her hand and lead her towards my car.
"Will you be okay," I say as I close my car door.
She looks over at me, with an unreadable expression, and then out towards the window.
"I sure hope so,"
As I start the car, I look over towards her hands and see that they are trembling. I lean over and take a hold of her hand, feeling the trembling start to sooth down as she looks over to me.
"It'll be okay," I say, and keep my hand on top of hers as I turn on the car.
I can feel the warmth on her hand against my cold skin. And I can't help but feel so incredibly selfish that even at a time like this, my heart can't seem to stop racing as my hand is touching hers.
