Scar's Perspective-

Scar waited, rocking on his feet, for Grian to step off of his bus.

He then saw his red sweater loving boyfriend and ran up to him.

"Hey Scar!" Grian smiled, blushing.

"Happy Valentine's Day!" Scar said, hugging Grian.

Grian blushed as he opened his backpack and took out a scrapbook.

"What's this?" Scar asked, opening it.

Grian blushed and quickly stopped Scar, "Don't open it here!" He shouted.

"Er- why not?" Scar asked.

Grian blushed, "B-because...because I don't want anyone to see it."

Scar smiled softly and kissed Grian's forehead, "Sure thing, G. And here, I saw you eyeing this cute parrot plushie a couple weeks ago."

Scar gave the colorful parrot squishmallow to Grian, who squealed.

"Aww, thanks Scar!"

Scar chuckled, "Of course, G."

Later-

Scar slumped down on his beanbag and looked at the scrapbook.

He opened it and saw that Grian had written in it.

'Hey Scar! If you're reading this at school, DON'T >:(

But if you're at home, then hi! I printed out a bunch of pictures of us together from my phone and put them in here. I hope you like it.

Happy Valentine's Day,

Love, Grian'

Scar smiled and blushed as he turned the page.

He burst out laughing as he saw it was a picture of him and Grian from when they met in elementary school.

I forgot how small we were! Scar thought, smiling at the picture.

He took out his phone and took a photo of the picture before flipping the page.

There were so many pictures.

One was them at the zoo, one was them feeding ducks, and one was pretty recent as it was a photo of them going to their middle school dance together.

Scar sighed fondly.

They had gone just as friends, but boy, did Grian look really cute in that dress.

I remember how much I wanted to kiss him. He should wear a dress more often.

Scar jumped as he was pulled out of his thoughts because his phone buzzed.

He checked it and smiled as he saw it was a text from his brother.

'Happy Valentine's Day, Scar! Get anything special for Grian?'

Scar chuckled and texted him back.

'Just got him a squishmallow. What about you and Etho?'

After a couple of minutes, Bdubs sent a picture.

Scar smiled.

'Cute necklace, that what he got you?'

'Yep! You like it?'

'Yeah, it's cute! I think dad would like it to, lol'

'Dad's already tried to steal it (┬┬┬┬)'

'Not surprised'

Bdubs's Perspective-

"That is a really nice necklace though, Bdubs."

Bdubs nodded.

He and his father were eating dinner, Bdubs in the middle of finishing his math homework.

"I wonder where Etho got it." Bdubs's father said, leaning back in his chair, thinking.

"Want me to ask him?"

"No, that's okay."

Bdubs shrugged and ate more of his chicken noodle soup before scribbling down equations.

"He really makes you happy, hm?" Bdubs's father hummed.

"Er- yeah. And it was really sweet of him to get me a clock necklace."

"Very. Just the kind of gift I would get your mother."

Bdubs looked up at his father with concern and saw that his father looked like he was about to cry.

"Dad...are you o- "

"I'm fine. Thanks for cooking dinner again, sorry to make you do that." Bdubs's father said, getting up and putting away his dishes.

"It's alright." Bdubs smiled, "I didn't mind. Besides, I wanted to make it for you ever since I learned how to at the school's cooking club."

His father nodded before kissing his son's head and walking away.

Bdubs's smile faded as his father left the room.

What am I doing wrong? Why can't you just be happy, dad?
