Bondita~
I was determined to beat my brother in the race. He had always been faster than me, but I was no less. I wanted to prove him wrong, to show him that I was not a weakling.
I was so focused on winning that I forgot to look at my surroundings. I didn't notice the man who crossed the road in front of me, carrying a camera and a backpack. He didn't notice me either until it was too late. We collided with a loud thud, sending us both tumbling to the ground.
I gasped, feeling immense pain in my ankle. It felt like it was on fire. I heard a groan from beneath me and realized that I had fallen on top of the man. I looked at his face, and my eyes widened slightly. He was handsome, with dark hair and stubble. He had a sharp nose and a strong jawline. His face was scrunched up in pain, and he had a cut on his forehead.
He opened his eyes, and I found myself drowning in them. They were hazel, hidden behind a pair of glasses that were now crooked on his nose. They were intense and piercing, but also warm and kind. He looked at me with a mix of confusion and concern.
"Are you okay?" he asked, his voice deep and soothing.
I couldn't speak. I was too stunned by his appearance and his gaze. I felt a blush creeping up my cheeks, and a flutter in my chest. I forgot about the race, about my brother, about my ankle. All I could think about was him, and how close we were.
I didn't know how to answer him, or what to do next. All I knew was that this was the most unexpected and exciting moment of my life.
I was here, right in the arms of the person who had been my crush for a year.
I was lost in my daydreaming until someone pulled me up and I hissed when my ankle twisted again.
"Little sister, you okay?" Vansh asks me as I stumble a little, Its then did I realize that we are almost at the school and a lot of students are staring at me or at the man who is now dusting his clothes
"I..my ankle hurts.." I whimpered almost falling down again but Vansh held me tightly
"We are almost at the school lets take your sister to the infirmary.." My Handsome man aka Anirudh Sir spoke looking at my brother who nodded and started to walk with me limping
"ANIRUDH SIR.." An annoyingly loud voice screeched as Riya one of my classmates dashed towards Anirudh Sir
"Sir, what happened? You are BLEEDING.." She shrieked pulling out her handkerchief and pressing it against his forehead
"Miss. Riya I am completely fine, it's just a small cut nothing you should worry about." Anirudh Sir said while gently pushing her hands away
"Still sir you should go to the infirmary, in fact I would come along with you in case you need something.." Riya said smiling naively at him
"Miss. Riya you should go to class or else you would be late and punished and I wouldn't want that now would I?" Anirudh sir said smiling his sweet smile and Riya sprinted away waving at Anirudh sir with a love-sick smile
Honestly, she makes it so painfully obvious that she has a thing for Anirudh sir and I am sure he knows that too, but it wouldn't matter to him now, would it? he has many admirers from teachers to students, I would be lying if I said that I don't have a crush on him..I do. But it's just a crush it will go away soon. Besides it's not like my father will ever let me fall in love, he would kill me even if I thought about love. How sad..
My train of depressing thoughts stopped when I felt something wet on my knees and I looked at Vansh who was washing the wound on my knee. So we were already at the infirmary? Wow! I am an overthinker. Vansh pulled out an ointment from the rack and started to put it on my knee, I hissed in pain and Vansh snorted.
"Who told you to run like a blind person, Little sister?" Vansh asked grinning evilly
"You are evil Vansh, I hate you.." I grumbled smacking his head but he just laughed
"Feeling's mutual, chipkali.."
"Her ankle's sprained please check it, Mrs. Sharma.." His voice stopped me from smacking Vansh again
He walked towards us with Mrs. Sharma who was the nurse of the infirmary, the cut on his forehead now had a small bandaged
Mrs Sharma sat in front of me where Vansh was sitting till now and started to look at my foot before looking at me
"It will hurt a little.." She said and then suddenly twisted my foot
A shriek left my mouth and I grabbed the nearest thing to me which so happened to be Anirudh Sir's shirt's sleeve, but he didn't react much like the kind soul he is, he just gave me an assuring look.
After a while the pain subdued and Mrs. Sharma put on a spray and stood up
"Thank you, Mrs. Sharma, for coming here even when you were in a hurry.." Anirudh Sir said with a smile
"Thank you? Anirudh Sir, it's my duty. You are really a gentleman, I will get going now it's my son's Annual Function today and I will send someone to volunteer today in my place.." Mrs Sharma said washing her hands and then taking her handbag she smiled and nodded at Anirudh Sir and left
Anirudh sir then turned towards us and looked at my brother
"Vansh, stay with your sister I will talk to your class teacher, come after Miss. Bondita feels good enough to walk again.." Anirudh Sir and my brother nodded
He then looked down at my hand which was still holding his sleeve, Embarrassed I quickly withdrew my hand avoiding looking at him. he then started to walk away and I looked at his back and called him.
"A..Anirudh Sir.." I called stuttering and cringing
"Yes?" He asked turning around and looking at me with raised brows
"I..I am sorry.." I mumbled looking down at my hands and feeling his confused stare
"What for?" he asked confused
"Uh..you..You fell because of me.." I said with a frown and saw him sighing from my peripheral vision
"It's ok Miss. Bondita. And I was at mistake too I wasn't looking where I was going either..but make sure next time when you race each other you look at your surroundings as well and avoid racing at roads, Yes?" He scolded both me and my brother softly and we both nodded and then he left with a nod and a small smile
"Although he takes away my spotlight many times, but still he is quite nice isn't he?" Vansh said while setting his hair and sitting down on one of the chairs like a king, which he isn't
I rolled my eyes at my Brother's self-boasting and couldn't help but agree at the later part
'Anirudh Sir is kind, too kind'
And Maa says that being too kind brings a lot of suffering
Shh..don't say such bad things Bondita''
