Anirudh

I was guilty but mostly mad at myself for letting my feeling win over me, I should have never felt anything for a girl who is so much younger than me, who is my student..

It had been two days, two days since I last saw Bondita. I am worried sick for her, the guilt of being the reason of her problems didn't settle well with me..

I know, Bondita's mother had misunderstood everything and I wanted to clear it out that day itself but I didn't want to ruin their happy moments afterall they were welcoming Lakshmi in their house..

But now it's enough I have come to know about the backward mentality of Bondita's parents by her friend whom I had interrogated for Bondita's absence in class..

I had to make sure that Bondita wasn't getting punished for something she never did..

Or else I won't be able to forgive myself ever..

I took a deep breath and rang the bell of the door..

A few minutes later it was opened by Bondita's Mother who looked at me sternly and was about to close the door when I put my hand in middle..

"I know you are extremely mad right now aunty, and you can take out your anger on me however you like, but please first hear me out.." I pleaded and she huffed walking out of the house and going to the back to the garden I followed behind her

"Speak up..." She said rudely looking at me and I gulped

"Whatever happened that day is a misunderstanding, I got hurt and Bondita was just helping me in applying ointment please don't get wrong idea and punish her for something she never did.." I said and she looked at me hatefully

"That doesn't change anything anymore, my daughter's life has been ruined, her father won't hear a single word now, he is getting her married to his friend's son who will leave her in the village to take care of his old parents and my daughter will suffer, like I have suffered my whole life..and I can't do anything to save her..just because of you, everything because of your one mistake..aree, she is young and immature but you, you are old enough to understand that a man shouldn't go to a room with an unmarried girl..you ruined my daughter's life..." She yelled glaring at me as tears rolled down her eyes

My eyes widened at the new information and I felt it hard to gulp down the fact that in today's generation there are still parents like this?

"B..Bondita is getting married?" I asked bewildered and she nodded

"Yes..and now since you are cause of her problem you have to save her..somehow, please son, please save my daughter..I forgive you for whatever happened..but please save my daughter.." she said joining her hands and kneeling down in front of me crying

I immediately held her by her shoulders and made her stand up..

"Please aunty, please don't cry, and please don't join your hands infront of me..I..I will save her..I promise, I won't let her get married.." I said determinedly and she looked at me hopefully

"Please save her..." She said and I nodded assuring her

After she left inside her house, I walked to my bike and giving one last glance in the hope of seeing her face disappointedly left with million thought and worries in my mind..

"Well, you elope away with her and marry her.." Dhani said while chewing on her pen doing homework

"No, Dhani that's wrong, it will be like betraying her parents and well I don't even know if Bondita likes me enough to marry me and she is very young how can I marry her.." I said and she groaned while my mother smacked my head

"Seriously Maa, is he really your son?" Dhani asked looking at Maa doubtfully

"I think our son got exchanged in the hospital, because no way my son is so dumb.." Maa said shaking her head disappointedly

"Anirudh, Mera beta, you yourself told me that Bondita used to have crush on you, and crushes don't go away easily besides it's not like we will force her to marry you or something, it will be completely her choice we will ask her first... and then you told us that Bondita's mother is in your favour and is ready to help in everything then we have Bondita's parents permission there is nothing like betraying, because honestly a father who doesn't cares about his daughter's happiness and only cares about his fake reputation shouldn't be called a father.." Maa said patting on my shoulder

"But she is young Maa it would be wrong to her.." I said in dilemma

"So you would rather have her married to someone else and become a housewife never having a choice then to be a slave because her father is definitely going to get her married now, and if you won't marry her then some man will marry to make his maid..you can give her much better life Anirudh, you can give her the freedom she deserves, you can give her the freedom to study, to become something..she won't be your wife here she will be my daughter.." Maa said firmly and I gulped looking at both Maa and Dhani who were looking at me expectantly

I swallowed thickly..

"So..how are we eloping away?" I asked and they both grinned at me giving eachother a hi-fi

Bondita

I was decked up in a yellow saree, and my Bhabhi was making my hairs she looked just as gloomy as me and I did not like that, she deserved a happy welcome in her new family not these stressed environment

"Bhabhi, are you okay?" I asked her holding her hands and she smiled at me softly

"I understand what you are going through Bondita, my parents married me off early because apparently a girl is a responsibility that they wanted to get rid off..but Bondita have faith in that God, he does everything for our own good, now look at your brother I was so scared when he first came to see me but he made me comfortable with himself, just like that you will also marry the only person you are meant to.." Bhabhi said keeping her both hands on my shoulder and looking at me through the mirror

I looked down gulping as tears blurred my vision, today Papa's friends family is coming to see me for their youngest son and I already have this dreading feeling in my heart..

"Vidya, bring Bondita downstairs in 5 minutes.." Maa said opening the door and keeping the veil over my head left the room without looking at me once, I felt my heart sinking even more

After five minutes Bhabhi helped me stand up as my whole body has given up and was just following the footsteps of my Bhabhi..

With each step my heart sank

Deeper...

I walked with heavy steps as my heart thudded loudly and I felt every hope in me leaving

Deeper..

As we reached near the guests and my Maa made me sit beside a mid aged women

Deeper..

The women held my chin and made me look upwards

Deeper..

My eyes met the lusty eyes of the man in his early 20s as he licked his lips first looking at my Bhabhi and Scanning her body and then to me

Deeper..

And then He smirked

Even more Deeper...
