Bondita looked at the carvings on the insides of the temple with awe and I smiled

She is cute..

we stopped infront of the idol of Durga Maa and adjoined our hands in submission and devotion to the mother of the world, the priest came forward and put a tilak on my forehead and then on Bondita's

"May you both have a happy and prosperous life ahead.." he blessed as we bent down to take his blessings

Afterwards we started to roam around the temple, the temple had a calm surrounding, it was a bit outside of Kolkata and on a little hilly area, so there were less people around, it had greenery and the chilly winds were giving a soothing sensation to mind and body..

"Sir, why are everyone tying the thread around the pillar?" Suddenly Bondita's voice brought me out of my thoughts and I looked in front

There were a lot of people tying a thread around the black pillar, I looked at Bondita who was looking at me questioningly with her wide eyes which shined in the sunlight

"There's an old superstition that when you tie a thread around this pillar with a particular wish on mind then it comes true, that's why a lot of people are tying the thread.." I explained her

"Why are you calling it a superstition?" She asked again while holding taking a thread and walking to the pillar and I followed behind her

"Because I do not believe in such things.." I replied shrugging and she started to tie the thread around the pillar

"But I believe in this, you see sir, there must be a reason so many people believe in this, it gives us hope, a hope of a better tomorrow, a hope of beautiful future, and most importantly a lot of people let out their pains and sufferings infront of this temple..when we can't speak, complain and cry to anyone, God always opens his arms to welcome us.. that's the reason I believe in God and his miracles.." She said and looked at me with her twinkling eyes as she completed tying the thread

I felt lost with words as her little speech brought a lot of sense of comfort, calm and pride in my heart, I couldn't believe that this little girl had more wisdom then me..

"Wow Bondita, you changed my perspective on a lot of things.." I said laughing a little and she giggled

Then we started to roam around the little market at the front of temple, Bondita was excitedly seeing things from one shop to another..

"Sir, how are this jhumkas?" She asked showing me a pair of round jhumkas and I nodded

"I will buy them for Dhani then.." she mumbled to herself and started looking at the bangles

"What is Mumma's favourite colour sir?" She asked me again while I was busy staring at her flawless self

She was wearing a bright yellow floral kurti with matching dupatta, and had a few red bangles around her wrist, her hairs were open and were flowing with the wind and her partition was filled with vermilion, her neck was adorned with the nuptial chain of my name, Everything about her was screaming that she was Mine..and suddenly I felt overwhelmed, I felt the need to be perfect for her, to give her everything and to remove every hardships of her life..
