Chapter 22

Bondita

I looked at myself in the mirror..eyes swollen and red, cheeks red and puffed up, hairs messy and lips red from all the crying I did..

For once I could not believe that my parents were not ready to hear my side of the story, they just cared about the fact that I was found in a room with a man..

And to top it of my bua and Dadi are putting oil in the fire by taunting my mother and father every two seconds..

After Maa and Bua saw me in the room with Anirudh Sir two days ago, Maa had slapped me tightly and pulled me out of the room, while Bua asked Anirudh sir to leave from there immediately..

And after the marriage was done all hell break loose, I was locked up in my room, my phone was taken away, Vansh was slapped for trying to defend me..

And lastly I was not allowed to leave my house anymore..

"Bondita, come downstairs.." I heard Raghu Bhai say while knocking on my door

Walking downstairs slowly I saw everyone sitting on the dining table along with my Bua's family..

I sat at my place downing my head while Maa served me, everyone started to silently eat and the only sound was of utensils..

"What did your friend say?" Dadi suddenly asked looking at Papa

"He said he will ask his son first.." Papa replied looking up

"Get him to agree somehow, we can't wait for long, what if anyone gets to know about the blunder your daughter has created, how much shame we will have to face, can you imagine? You should have just listened to me and Shanti but no, you had so much faith in your daughter, now see what she did.." Dadi taunted and I closed my eyes to stop the tears from falling down

Just then Papa's phone rang and he answered keeping it on speaker on Bua's request, my eyebrows furrowed at the eager look on her face..

This can't be right..

"Hello, Shivnath..my son agreed to come see your daughter, he did ask a lot of questions about why you wanted to marry her so early but don't worry I have handled everything..we will come tomorrow itself..and hopefully we will soon be relatives..." Papa's friend said with excitement and Bua's face lit up as she looked at all of us smirking I gritted my teeth

This women is the sole reason of all the problems of our family..

"Oh okay, we will wait for your arrival.." papa said and cut the phone

"Great, Sujata prepare every delicacies along with your daughter-in-law and groom your daughter as much as you can, they should accept this marriage proposal at any cost.." Dadi said looking at my mother who nodded downing her head

"Papa I am not getting married.." I declared standing up and he looked at me angrily

"Shut up you foolish girl, you have already caused enough damage.." Dadi yelled glaring

"Papa please believe me once I didn't do anything, it's all misunderstanding.." I said as tears rolled down my eyes

"Bondita, don't make things more complicated for us.." he said and standing walked to his room

"PAPA I WON'T GET MARRIED, I WILL RUN AWAY FROM THE HOUSE BUT I WON'T GET MARRIED.." I yelled angrily as tears rolled down my eyes

My Dadi slapped me holding by my arm

"This is the reason girls shouldn't be given the freedom, you are blackmailing your father now, huh?.." she said holding my arm tightly

"Dadi leave her, Vidya take her to her room.." Raghu Bhai said standing in between and pulling my arm away from Dadi's hold

My newly married Bhabhi who was standing in a corner looking at everything horrified looked at me sympathetically while she guided me to my room holding my shoulders..

As soon as we entered inside my room Bhabhi hugged me tightly while I cried on her shoulder shaking uncontrollably

"Bhabhi, I ..I am just 18..how can I get married, I don't want to get married..Bhabhi please.. please do something.." I said sobbing on her shoulders while she rubbed my back

"What can I do Bondita, the least I could do is talk to your brother, but I can't change Papa's mind.." she said cupping my cheeks

"Bondita, do you have faith on us.." I looked at both my elder brothers standing on the door

"I..I do.." I said gulping and Raghu Bhai kept his hand on my head

"Then believe me I will do everything to convince papa to not get you married, but if he doesn't understands then we will ourselves help you in running away..but have patience for a while.." Raghu Bhai said wiping my tears and I hugged him sobbing

"Shh.. don't cry.." he said kissing on my hairs

"Va..Vansh?" I asked looking at them hopefully

"We don't know, where he leaves to early morning and comes late at evening.." Rehan Bhai said and I nodded

"Don't take stress..okay?" Raghu Bhai said and all of them left me alone

I closed the door and looked up at the ceiling laying on the bed..

A parent is the support system of their child, they are the backbone of their children and today papa has taken away my backbone and left me vulnerable, weak and in pain..

And right now, I can only hope for a miracle to happen now...
