Anirudh

I looked at my wallet that now had barely twenty thousand rupees left...

And I still have house rent and Dhani's school fees pending which is total 15000, I had thought of saving the remaining 5000 rupees and buying a dress for Maa and Dhani on Diwali, but looks like I wouldn't be able to do that this year as well..

It pains me knowing that every year neighbour aunty and her kids show off their new dresses to Maa and Dhani and they have to endure that with a smile..

Being a junior college teacher hadn't helped me good enough, my monthly salary is 50000 which ends eventually..Maa's medicines are too costly as well..

And now with this iPhone's repairing it is going to cost me atleast 10000 or so..

Lost in my thoughts I kept looking at the blank phone unblinkingly

"Bhai.." Dhani mumbled standing at my doorway

"Bhai I am sorry, please don't be upset.." Dhani said walking up to me and sitting on the bed

"Bhai!!..I swear Bhai I didn't do it intentionally..it accidentally fell down.. infact that Vansh was the one who kept teasing me..and" Dhani started blabbering sitting beside me when I stopped her

"Shut up!! Just keep your mouth shut Dhani..Vansh is right, you have turned into an Insolent Brat..and if you are going to continue this behaviour of yours then never talk to me ever.." I stated and she looked at me

"Bhai..I said sorry..why are you being mean.." she asked holding my arm

"No Dhani..I have had enough of your troubles I cannot always fix the blunders you create, I have a life as well.." I said and she stood up with tear filled eyes

"S.sorry Bhai, I know I always cause trouble but I promise I won't do that anymore, I am so sorry..." Dhani said as tears streamed down her eyes and she walked out of my room

I released a frustrated sigh looking at our family photo where Maa was holding Dhani and Papa was pulling my cheeks

I do not know how my father managed all our expenses without showing a single amount of frustration or anger to any of us..

I really admire my father a lot for this..

Laying down on the bed I reminsced the days when I was free from all this stress and was nestled in my mother's lap as she sang me lullaby and my father became my horse..

And I eventually fell asleep, with the thought of apologizing to my sister early morning

"Anirudh..Anirudh get up bete.." Maa's soothing voice reached my ears and I opened my eyes

"Good morning maa.." I mumbled sitting up and stretching

"Good morning, hurry up you are late for your college.." Maa said and then suddenly started coughing violently

"Maa..are you okay?" I asked hurriedly filling up a glass of water and handing her

"I am fine its just normal for the old people's.." Maa said patting my cheeks

"No maa, I will bring something for your cough today itself.." I said worriedly and she just shook her head before pushing me inside bathroom

"I don't need anything Anirudh, now get ready also Dhani has already left for school you don't need to drop her today.." Maa told me and I peeked out from the door

"Dhani left? With whom?" I asked

"With her friends.." Maa said and left my room

While I felt guilty now I wouldn't be able to apologise to Dhani till evening
