Chapter 17

Anirudh

I drove my bike carefully through the wet roads as the harsh drops of water made it difficult for me to drive..

It has suddenly started raining today since morning, looks like even the clouds are mourning with me..

Three days, it's been three days since Maa has been admitted to hospital, and there is little to no improvement from her side, she had suddenly fainted because having breathing problem..

I was stressed I can't leave Maa alone at hospital she needs someone always beside her to get her medicine time to time but leaving Dhani alone at home specially at night also scares me..

Reaching home I parked my bike and rang the door bell..It was as usual opened by Bondita, this brings me peace the fact that there is someone who is atleast taking care of my sister at day time, feeding her food and being with her eases my heart a little..

I am very thankful of Bondita and Vansh for these

"Come inside immediately sir, you have gotten all wet..." Bondita said opening the door and I walked in taking my shoes off

I was welcomed with a smiling Dhani holding a small cake and Vansh who was standing behind her

"Happy Birthday Bhai.." Dhani said forwarding me the cake

Oh..I had completely forgotten that today is my birthday..

"Thankyou Dhani.." I said and blowed on the candle although I had no excitement of my birthday but anything to keep that smile intact on my sister's face

Feeding a small piece to her, I fed one to Vansh and then forwarded one to Bondita she softly bit on it and forwarded the same to me I ate it..

"You should get freshen up sir..I would heat up the food.." Bondita said and I nodded walking to my room

I removed my watch and then my shirt when suddenly I felt a bile rising in my throat rushing to the bathroom I vomited whatever was on my stomach holding on the basin a tear rolled down my eye and I felt a small hand rubbing my back wiping away the sweat and tear from my face..

After washing my mouth I sat down on the floor holding my head feeling weak

"Drink some water sir.." I looked up at Bondita who forwarded me a glass of water

Rubbing my face I shakily held the glass of water and took few sips

"It's probably because of the hospital's canteen food I ate.." I reasoned looking down at the floor

"You know sir, Dhani told me that your left eye blinks continuously when you lie, and it's blinking right now.." she pointed out sitting on her knees in front of me

My vision blurred as tears filled in my eyes and I refused to look up at her

"Crying doesn't makes anyone weak sir, infact the person who can cry Infront of others is the most strongest person.." she said gently keeping a hand on my shoulder

A sob left my mouth while the stubborn tears involuntarily started flowing down my eyes on the floor..

I leaned forward keeping my head on Bondita's shoulder while she rubbed my arms and bare back as I cried on her shoulder

She didn't said anything no comforting words or anything just gave me a shoulder to cry upon which I was thankful for..

After crying for sometime and sitting silently leaned upon eachother I pulled away from her shoulder and rubbed my face harshly to rub the traces of tears

"Sir, don't be so harsh on yourself, you have to take care of Dhani as well.." she said holding my hands in hers

"What if Maa leaves me Bondita, I won't be able to handle that, I am not ready for that.." I said like a lost child looking at her as tears again blurred my vision she looked at me her own eyes filled with tears

"No mother ever leaves her child sir, she is always there with you in one way or another, and no one is ever ready or prepared for what is about to come in their life but we all should accept everything positively and go with flow..we humans afterall learn things only after we face it.." she said maturely and I looked up trying to stop my tears from falling

"You have to be strong sir, you can't lose hope.." she said holding my hands together in her hand

"Bhai?" We heard Dhani's voice and Bondita seperated away from me

"I forgot, today a letter came in morning I have kept it at your bed sir.." saying this she left me alone

Wiping my tears and taking a shower I went out wrapping a towel around my waist taking the letter I ripped it open and what I saw next brought a happy smile on my face..

I was accepted in a reputed University to teach First and second year students..

That will help me a lot in taking care of our expanses now..

The closeness between Anirudh and Bondita is increasing a bit..

Also since I have gotten a pace over this story.. I was thinking to end this story within 40-45 chapters what do you all say?
