Tony opened his closet and threw on a fancy suit before making his way downstairs and down the hall. The public didn't expect him to show up but what better way to prove them wrong than with a surprise visit. He knocked on his friend's door and soon after it was opened.

"You're dressed fancy... get invited to a party or something?"

"No actually, I'm just going to show up." He let himself in and Quentin just let him by stepping out of the way. "Throw a suit on, you're going with me."

"..I am?"

"I mean every other employee is probably there, don't want to be left out right?"

"I guess not."

"Cool," He pat Quentin on the shoulder before leaving. "I'll see you outside."

Quentin closed the door and went ahead and threw on his best dress pants, a matching belt, a white dress shirt and jacket along with a pretied tie. He wasn't exactly a party type since he didn't drink or anything of the sorts but the fact that he was invited by Tony.. well he had to go. He styled his hair and made sure his appearance looked tight before grabbing his water bottle and heading outside. Tony was waiting by his gray Audi.

"You look handsome, get inside."

"Are we in a rush or something?" Quentin asked while sitting down in the passenger seat and buckling his seatbelt.

"No, you're just really slow sometimes." Tony replied while leaving the garage and driving onto the main road. "Got you a gift by the way."

"A gift? What's the occasion?"

"Can I not just get you something?"

"Nono- that wasn't what I meant I was just saying,"

Quentin was cut off when the Stark reached into his glovebox and pulled out a small keychain before tossing it in his lap. It was an ovel like shape with a little button. "What's this?"

"Pocket Critter thing. Thought it was cute like your personality. Open it."

The man turned away towards the window to try and hide the flush that was trying to color his cheeks. He pressed the little button and the hatch popped open. Inside were some mechanic dalmatian dogs. The sound was winding like those cheap wind up walk toys. It was like a little yard inside the keychain.

It had grass, a little cut off dog house, a football and a water bowl. He closed the top hatch with a click before pressing the button again. The winding starting over and moving the little figures. "Aww, it's adorable."

"Right? I thought you could put it on your key holder and mess with it while you're anxious."

"I'll go ahead and do that right now," He fished his car keys out of his pocket and carefully hooked it up to his ring. He shook them with a jingle to make sure it was secure before putting them back in his pocket. "Thanks Tones, I'll work on getting you something as a thank you."

"You don't have to do that Q-Tip, I guess it's also somewhat a sorry gift for stringing you along all of a sudden. Shit has been crazy you know? I mean one moment we're riding your bike to school and the next my parents are dead and I'm in control of this huge ass company. So hopefully you're not judging me too harshly."

"No, I get it, I mean sure I've felt kind of bad but, I never judged you for it."

"Well I appreciate that."

The party was quite crowded. A ton of Stark Industries employees and staff were here. All dressed fancy to a tee. There was no non alcoholic drinks so Quentin was rocking his water bottle full of watered down coffee. Which was gross, but better than dehydration.

He was just hanging out somewhere upfront talking to a few people who passed  to at least socialize and make it seemed like he belonged there but he got distracted as he watched Tony walk up to Pepper, who was on the dance floor. With no time at all Tony had his arms around her waist and they slow danced. He wanted to look away but he couldn't. What was wrong with him? Why was he still trying, he clearly did not have a chance.

He saw the look in Tony's eyes when he noticed her on the floor. How she looked 'sexy' in that backless black dress and her orange hair down. Quentin sighed and took his keys out to mess with his new keychain. Opening and closing it and watching the little puppies play. When he looked up he watched his friend take his assistant outside to the balcony. There was just no way..

-------------------------------------------------------

Open, close, open, close. It had been quite awhile since he saw Tony. I mean he and Pep came back inside after about five minutes of being outside but he had no idea where Stark was now. He kind of regretted coming.. everyone else was dancing and drinking while he was just kind of standing alone to the side with coffee flavored water. Tony might of even forgot he brought him and he'd just have to call a cab or ride the bus.

Tony was having a whole lot of thoughts as he came back inside from the red carpet out front. Why the fuck did Stane- trying to close him out? To protect him? Oh hell no, he was up to something. He was selling weapons under the table without him knowing. Well he now knew what he was going to do with that new improved model of the Mark II armor.

He looked around for his plus one. If he were a lonely boy scout where would he be? Bingo. Away from the middle where people were dancing he spotted a man leaning on a wall. Water bottle in one hand while messing with the cheap gift that Tony, a billionaire, got him.

Quickly he rushed over and gripped Beck's arm gently. Quentin of course reacted with slight fear, he hadn't even noticed Tony storming over to him. "What the h-"

"Shhh, we have to go, now." Tony's tone was serious and the volume was low. If he was on edge something must of happened. Quentin just let himself be dragged as Stark put on that playboy act all the way out to his car. He let go and quickly rushed to get in. Beck matched his energy and hurried along too.

Once they were in the car and moving he figured now would be the best time to ask what the hey all of that was back there. "Okay what's wrong."

"I think you were right."

"What?"

"About Stane. I think you were right."

"Wait- what? I mean it was just a theory-" He lied. "Why? What happened?"

"Some chick showed me photos that were taken yesterday. Our company weapons were on standby. I never approved a shipment."

"What? But I thought you shut the-"

"I did." He interrupted. "When she told me they were recent photos I went to ask Stane if he knew about them and he straight up told me that he approved them. He's selling shit behind my back!" Quentin knew Stane was trouble but he didn't know this part. He only overheard that he tried to assassinate Tony. If he's also selling weapons to terrorists well this could start a war and hundreds of people would die. "He said it was to protect me. Can you believe that bullshit?"

He didn't really know how to respond. Beck fiddled his thumbs and tapped his foot while checking in the side mirror out of habit. "So what do we do now?"

"My weapons are out there without my permission." Tony turned his mirror to see to the side of him. I guess they were both acting out of anxiousness. He turned onto their street and backed up into the garage before putting the car into park and turning to face Quentin. "And I'm going to destroy them."
