I slammed my fist down onto one of the other thugs, watching as they dropped to the floor.

Another came at me with a knife, trying to stab me in the stomach.

I quickly grab at their wrist and move the blade to my side, parrying the blow.

I acted swiftly, giving a hook to his chin, dropping him to the floor.

I lifted my eyes up to one final person in the alleyway with me.

"Call the police." My voice came out much deeper due to a voice changer attached to my throat.

I take a strong grip on the wall, once again using my climbing experience, and pull myself up to the roof, making my getaway.

"Thank you."

Their final words to me reached my ears as I jump over the ledge onto the roof.

Stendhal met me up their and started running with me across the roofs.

"That was good." I silently thank him, choosing to put more attention on the ground ahead of me. "You should head home, your starting to get tired, I can tell by the way you moved."

I nodded to myself, already knowing that he was right.

It wasn't long before I found myself laying atop my mattress, not even getting out of my samurai uniform.

The past month I have been patrolling, getting used to the area and understanding what it means to be a vigilante.

It was tough, mentally and physically.

Getting used to some sleepless nights, while still being able to function throughout the day has been difficult.

But I worked through it, because I had to.

A handful of people have had the chance to speak with me about saving them, and each of them have thanked me for my actions.

Which made me realise something.

I can be more than something criminals fear.

I can be something innocent bystanders can trust in.

Something they can believe in.

But in the past month, I haven't spoken with Clara once, not even when I would get a drink.

I felt like I was losing one of my closest friends.

A rough knock on the door brought me out of my head.

I squint my eyes in confusion, making sure to strap my katana back to my waist before taking cautious steps to the door.

I opened the door, finding a group of men standing in suits.

At the front was a tall women, a file laying in her hands.

"Samurai?" She looks at me questionably. I nodded my head in confusion. "We have a contract for you, the details are inside." I looked at the contract in her hands before shaking my head.

"I'm sorry ma'am, but I'm currently not taking any contracts due to a... personal reason." I fidgeted in place, wondering when they would leave. Her eyes hardened at my response.

"I would recommend you reconsider, or our boss won't take kindly to your words." I felt my annoyance grow at her words.

"Your clearly coming to me for skills you do not possess, wethers it's my stealth or my fighting ability, which I'm sure you know all about otherwise you wouldn't be here." I glare in response to her stubbornness. "So I think it would be best for you to reconsider your words." I stood my ground, watching as her face doesn't falter, her annoyance following her as she turned around and left.
