Elizabeth's POV

A girl that looked like she was 11 just passed out on the sidewalk. I don't know what to do, but It would look really bad if I didn't help her. I picked her up and started to walk back to my apartment. People gave me some funny looks but I ignored them. I opened my door and laid her down on a couch. Henry came over and started to paw at her bracelet. Then he looked at me with confusion. "I know, today has been weird." Henry looked back at the girl and then walked off. I started to question myself on why I was letting a stranger in my home. Can I trust her? Maybe. I was hungry so I went to go make some food. Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup. I made more than i normally do in case the girl wanted any when she woke up.

"Woah" I heard a voice say. I was in the middle of washing the dishes so I dropped the plates in the sink and walked over to her. "Hi, are you okay?" She didn't respond. "You passed out on the sidewalk so I brought you here to see if I could help."
She looked very confused. "Sorry if this sounds rude but who are you? You didn't kidnap me did you?" I laughed at what she said and I think that answered her question. "I'm Elizabeth Teeter." "Lily Pytel." I went to shake her hand but she just stared at it. "Why is your hand wet?" I looked at my hand and remembered what I was doing before. "Sorry! I was washing dishes." I ran over to the sink and turned the water off. Then I grabbed a paper towel to dry my hands. "So, why were you walking around with a suitcase by yourself?" She just looked at the floor. I figured she didn't want to talk about it so I changed the subject. "Are you hungry? I made extra food in case you wanted some." "I'm not really hungry." Her voice was sad and It bugged me that I didn't know why. I opened the trash can to throw the paper towel away and saw Henry sitting in the garbage can. "Really? again?" He just looked up at me and then continued to try to get out. "You are going to get accidentally thrown out some day." Lily looked at me with a very confused look on her face. "I'm talking to my cat. He likes to do stupid things." She laughed and walked over. She picked Henry up and put him on the floor. "Do you have anywhere to go for the night?" She hesitated "No." "You can stay here if you want." I kind of wanted her to stay because she has no where to go and I like the company. "Sure I guess." "Follow me." I said as I started walking down the hall. I brought her to the guest room and she liked it from what I could tell. She unpacked her things and then we decided to go for a walk.

We started to walk towards the Marquis Theater because I wanted to show her what I did for a living. She obviously had no clue who I was so I wanted to give a good first impression. I saw her texting someone on her phone. I didn't want to be rude or anything so I didn't look at their conversation. We walked the whole way in silence

Lily's POV

Me: Sorry I'm back I was busy.
Julia: Doing what?

Should I tell her? No. Not yet.

Me: Doing homework
Julia: oh okay. Are you home? I want to hang out.
Me: Sorry I'm not. Maybe another day?
Julia: Sure!

I hated lying to her but I had to.

Julia: Do we have a math test tomorrow?
Me: No, tomorrow is Saturday.
Julia: YESSSS!!!
Me: 😂

Elizabeth stopped walking so I looked up and saw a bunch of buildings.

Me: I have to go. Talk to you soon!
Julia: Okay bye!

"Welcome to the Marquis Theater!" I was confused on why she brought me here. I looked around and saw a sign that said Beetlejuice the Musical was currently on Broadway in this theater. I started to remember the song Julia put on my playlist. Home. The girl singing kind of sounded like Elizabeth. I looked around some more but didn't see much. Just cars flying by and a lot of people. Then a girl ran up to her. She looked about my age. "Hi! I saw the show yesterday and I loved it! You did amazing as Lydia!" "Thank you!" She replied with a smile. Then It all clicked. The person who I collapsed into was a Broadway star. I must have had a really weird look on my face because the girl pointed at me and asked if I was okay. "I'm fine." I wasn't. My mind was racing thinking about everything that just happened within the last two hours. Elizabeth grabbed my hand and lead me into the theater. "Cool right?" She looked happy to be here. I didn't know what to say so I just nodded. "I need to do something real quick. You can wait here." I sat down on a chair and pulled out my phone.

Me: Okay you aren't going to believe what happened.
Julia: What?

Shoot. If I told her about Elizabeth I would have to tell her about my parents.

Me: Never mind.
Julia: No tell me!

I just shut off my phone. I still didn't want to tell her anything. She will think I'm overreacting and tell me to go back. I can't go back. I don't want to see my parents ever again. Elizabeth returned and we headed back to her apartment. "Do you like the theater?" I'm not going to lie to her. I've already lied enough. "I'm not really into musicals or Broadway." She doesn't look sad like I expected her to. She just keeps the same smile on her face. "That's okay. Everyone has their opinions." She started to talk about how she loves to dance. I was kind of interested in the conversation but something broke me out of it. I halted to a stop and stood there just staring at something horrible.
