Chapter 4

Lily's POV

I heard an alarm go off In another room. I tried to open my eyes but they felt heavy. Once I finally pried them open, the light blinded me. I got out of bed and got ready for the day. I looked at my phone and saw that I had a few messages.

Julia: Hi! How are you doing?
Me: Tired.
Julia: Same.
Julia: Any plans for today?
Me: I'm probably just going to go with the flow.
Julia: okay.
Me: I'll text you later bye.
Julia: Bye!

I looked to see who else texted me. My dad and mom. I didn't want to look but I decided to anyways.

Dad: Where are you?
Me: None of your business.

He didn't respond so I went to text my mom.

Mom: Why did you run away? When you get back you are going to be in so much trouble!
Me: I don't want to come back.
Mom: Fine. Then we will come and find you.

I didn't really care if they did. I thought about it last night and I figured out I actually do have evidence to throw my dad in jail. We have security cameras in our house. I can go threw them and find the recording of my dad and mom from the other day. Now I just need to find evidence for my mom. I had took the photo out of my pocket last night and put it on top of the nightstand. I took it and put it in my pocket again. Then I opened my door and went to go find something to eat. Last night Elizabeth told me to help myself to anything I could find. Eventually I found some cheerios, milk, a bowl, and a spoon. I sat down to eat and then my phone dinged. I walked over to the counter where I left it and picked it up. My dad texted me back.

Dad: We are coming to find you and when we do, you are going to be in a world of pain.

That made me a little nervous. What if they did find me? I'm worrying to much. I'll be fine. I finished up my cereal and sat down on the couch. A few minutes later a tired Elizabeth walked out of her room followed by Henry. "Morning." She looked at me and smiled. "Good morning!" She made her self some coffee and sat down at the table. She scrolled through her phone and I did the same. After a few minutes she looked up. "What do you want to do today?" I thought for a moment but I couldn't really think of anything. "I don't know. I guess I'll just tag along with you." "Okay." She went back to her phone and I got up to go to the bathroom. When I came back Elizabeth had moved to the couch and Henry sat on her lap. "I have two shows today, one at two and one at eight. Do you want to come with?" I didn't really want to. I was tired and still trying to process everything that had happened in the last two days. "No thank you. I'll go to Julia's." "Okay but one day you are coming with me." What did she mean by one day? Was she going to let me stay here? No, I'm a complete stranger. She is probably just going to let me stay here until she sends me to an adoption center. Henry got off of Elizabeth's lap and started to wander around. Then he came back and sat on my lap. Elizabeth made a fake offended look. "Traitor." I couldn't help but laugh. Henry just looked up at me and I hugged him close. Eventually he fell asleep on my lap, and I drifted off soon after.

Elizabeth's POV
Lily ended up falling asleep with Henry on top of her so I decided to go back to my room so I wouldn't accidentally wake them up. I was just dancing in my room when I got a text from Kerry.

Kerry: Hey! If you don't mind me asking, why weren't you here yesterday?

I took yesterday off because i wanted to make sure Lily was okay. I didn't know if Lily was okay for me to tell people so I decided to lie.

Me: I just didn't fell good, but I'll be there today.
Kerry: That's good! I'll see you later!
Me: Bye
Kerry: Bye!

I put down my phone and I looked at my door and saw that it was cracked open a little bit. That's weird, didn't I shut it? I looked around and saw Henry sitting on my desk chair in a weird pose. "You're such a strange cat." He just looked at me for a few seconds, then he rolled off the chair and onto the floor. He jumped on my bed and watched me dance. Eventually he got up and strutted out of the room. After a little while I got bored of dancing and went to go find Henry. He was on the table in another weird pose. I shook my head and then sat on a chair next to Lily. She looked peaceful. I had recorded a video of me dancing in my room so I posted it on TikTok. It had Henry sitting on my bed in the background but people love when Henry is in the videos, especially when he interrupts them. I looked at the clock on my phone. 11:24 am. I would have to leave in a few minutes for the 2:00 show. "Lily wake up." She started to sit up with a tired look on her face. "I need to get ready to go so I'm going to drop you off at Julia's." "Okay." She yawned and started to look for something. "What you looking for?" "My phone, I can't find it." I started to help and we searched everywhere for it. "It's okay we'll find it later." I almost gave up but I walked over to Henry and picked him up. "Found it." He had been laying on top of it. She laughed and grabbed her phone and walked out the door. I put Henry down and started to follow. "Bye Henry!" I switched off the lights and locked the door.
