"WHAT?" Alexander exclaims. He contunues, "Sir.. Sir you can't be serious!"
Thomas holds back a chuckle and clears his throat. He dramatically pleads, "SIR PLEASE DON'T PAIR ME WITH HAMILTON. I'LL CATCH HIS WEAKNESS SIR."
Alexander glances at Thomas and nods at him. He huffs. Alexander pleads, "Please, sir! Jefferson isn't at my level!"
"What if I catch the loser virus, sir?" Thomas worryingly asks Washington, pointing at Alexander.
Washington facepalms and inhales deeply while they scream and cry about the arrangements.
"Enough!!" Washington demands.
Alexander and Thomas come to a full stop for a moment before Thomas bursts into laughter, leading Alexander to start giggling.
Washington is now confused. He thought they were indirectly bickering, but now they're laughing? He's a little lost.
Alexander and Thomas can barely contain themselves, their laughter floods the room for a few seconds before Alexander wipes his tears and clears his throat. Thomas stops laughing as well and stares at Washington, smiling.
Washington has caught on now. "You two were never actually upset, were you?" Washington asks, chuckling. Alexander and Thomas nod in unison while glancing at each other.
"We'll be fine, Washington." Thomas reassures his boss while ruffling Alexander's messy loose hair.
Alexander, while joking earlier, actually does resent having to work with a partner on this project. 'Why can't I do it myself?' he wonders. Although he's a little upset, he hides it.
"Alright." Washington says while handing a few sheets of paper to Alexander. He explains that the papers are graphs for research to help with the project. Alexander nods. "We'll be in my office if you need us, sir!"
Washington nods. "Hmm. Good luck, I'm counting on you."
About an hour later, Alexander is typing the first few pages of the research papers. An hour has gone by and Thomas has been relatively doing his own thing.
"Thomas.. you could at least help out a little.." Alexander mumbles. Thomas heard that.
"Ughh! But that's so borin'!" Thomas groans out.
Alex inhales sharply, seemingly a little annoyed. "Thomas, Washington assigned us this project to do together, alright? If you dont want to lose your job, I suggest you cooperate with me." The both of them meet eyes for a second before Thomas calls out, "Dang, after all I've done for you, you force me to work!" Thomas jokingly exclaims.
"We are sooo getting fired." Alexander mutters.
Thomas huffs at Alexander's statement but ultimately begins an attempt to help him with the work. "What can I help you with, Alexander?"
"Mm. Perhaps reading me this data chart as I write, so I don't have to keep looking down at it." Alexander hands Thomas the chart while his eyes are glued to his laptop screen.
"Alright." Thomas thankfully agrees.
Not even five minutes later, Thomas is bored out of his mind, he can feel himself dying.
'How the hell did I let myself get roped into this? I wish I was in France. At least they have wine for me to drink so even if I'm doing something boring, I could spice it up with alcohol..' Thomas thinks to himself while bored and lost in thought. Just then his thoughts are interrupted by Alexander.
"Ugh! Are you even fucking listening?" Alexander exclaims.
"Woahh. Language! And.. no. I was not listenin '. Could you repeat that, darlin'?"
Alexander huffs. "As I was saying... I've finished a few more pages but it's time to go home. Lets continue to write this at my friend's house, okay?"
Thomas raises an eyebrow. "Why not your house? Got a snake problem or somethin'?"
Alexander panics slightly. "N-No, not at all. I just want to finish it at my friend's house, if that's okay with you?"
Thomas giggles. "Yeah it's fine. Lets dip."
Alexander gathers his things and leads Thomas out to his car. It's an old vehicle. Looks like a 2004 model. Thomas is rich, so driving in a car as beat up as Alexander's is new to him.
As they get in and buckle up, Thomas decides to ask a very important question. "Hey, why's your car beat to a pulp? Hmm. Did'cha drive into a family of bears?" Thomas chuckles at his own joke. Alexander is not amused. He ignores the question and instead takes out his phone and starts up the car.
He calls John Laurens.
