It's late into the evening and Alexander is working hard on the essay. Thomas has given up on the essay half an hour ago. He lay on the bed next to the overworked Alexander. He looks at him.
"Alex, let's take a break." Thomas suggests. Alex shakes his head.
"Can't. I have to get this essay to Washington in two da-" Alexander is stopped by Thomas, putting his hand over Alexander's mouth. "Shut up." Thomas says. He removes his hand from Alexander's mouth. Alexander glares at Thomas.
"Make me." Alexander snarls.
Thomas closes Alexander's laptop. "Lets. Take. A. Break." he reiterates. Alexander huffs. "Oh, c'mon, Thomas.. I.."
Thomas places his finger over Alexander's mouth. "Pleeeease~? Alexander, you need a break." Thomas insists. Alexander can't say no to that. "Fine, fine. Where are we even going?" He inquires.
"You'll see." Thomas says mischievously, taking Alexander's pale slim hand and leading him downstairs. Alexander is not amused. He hates surprises.
They arrive downstairs. Alexander grabs Phillip, who is sleeping, and they walk outside. Thomas locks the door behind them. It's quite dark. Alexander places Phillip in his car seat and he sits in the front passenger's seat.
"No, really, Thomas. Where are we going?" Alexander queries, buckling his seatbelt. Thomas hums.
"Somewhere." he says.
"That's not very promising, Thomas." Alexander responds. Thomas chuckles.
Thomas backs out of the driveway and starts driving. Alexander yawns; it's been a long day. "You tired, darlin'?" Thomas questions. Alexander groans. Thomas takes that as a yes. Thomas glances at the time and it's only about 8pm.
After about ten minutes, they arrive at an open field filled with flowers. It seems to be a garden. Thomas opens the door for Alexander, when Alexander steps out, he audibly gasps.
"This is so pretty.." he mutters. Alexander is met with a flower field that is filled with plentiful flowers. Thomas nods. "I used to go here all the time to contemplate how idiotic you were."
Alexander rolls his eyes and shoves Thomas. Thomas chuckles and he takes Alexander's hand.
They sit on the ground. Alexander is in awe with the scenery. He glances at Thomas who seems to be looking at him.
Alexander hums. "Why are you looking at me like that, Thomas~?" he queries. Thomas' eyebrows raise when he notices that Alexander had noticed him staring. "'Cause I can, I suppose." he responds. Alexander chuckles and shrugs it off.
Alexander gazes at the night sky. "The stars are so pretty.." he mutters. Thomas glances at the stars for a moment. "Yeah, almost as pretty as me." Thomas says, confidently. Alex rolls his eyes and he almost chuckles.
"I'm gonna have to disagree with you, Thomas." Alex starts, "Don't get me wrong- You're pretty, yeah. But, the stars are to die for.." he announces.
Thomas interrupts. "I'm sorry, but did you say I'm pretty, Alexander?" Thomas inquires. Before Alexander can answer, Thomas continues. "You think I'm pretty?" Thomas asks, smiling smugly. He was half expecting Alexander to blush and fumble over his words but..
Instead, Alexander's eyes widen for a moment, but then he relaxes. He smiles. "Yeah, I do think you're pretty." He starts. He continues, "Well, I've always thought that face of yours was annoying, sure.." He glances up at Thomas. He shifts his position to face him. "..but I'd be lyin' if I said there wasn't a part of me that liked your eyes.." Alexander continues, cupping Thomas' face. "..and that beard.." Alexander proceeds, caressing Thomas' cheeks. "..oh.. and those lips.." he mutters, leaning into Thomas until their lips touch.
Alexander closes his eyes, takes a deep breath, and kisses Thomas. Thomas can't help but kiss back. He feels helpless, but in a good way. Thomas closes his eyes as well, and grabs Alexander's torso, holding onto it. Alexander's kiss is fierce.
They continued like this for 10 seconds before their lips parted. They catch their breath in unison. It was a heat of the moment kiss.
Thomas is speechless for a moment. He's staring at Alexander, half lustful and half shocked.
Thomas bites his lip. "Lord have mercy.." he breathily mutters out. Alexander smiles. "Should we do that again?" Alexander queries. Thomas leans into Alexander. He knows whats coming. Thomas grabs Alexander's hips and kisses him. Alexander grips Thomas' arms. Alexander's mind is on one thing only. Thomas.
'This is so wrong, but it feels so.. right. How could I possibly say no to this?' Alexander thinks.
Their lips part again. They look at each other, breathing heavily. Thomas grins. "Not bad for a bastard." He teases. Alexander rolls his eyes and pinches Thomas' cheek. "Right~ Not bad for a rich, entitled southerner." Alexander claps back.
Alexander clears his throat and caresses Thomas' cheek. Thomas places his hand over Alexander's and sighs.
"Well, aren't I baffled? It seems you've made the first move. That was my job." Thomas says. Alexander chuckles. "I just had to~ It was a heat of the moment thing." Alexander responds. Thomas sighs and glances off for a moment.
"Alexander, I don't think I told you.. and I.. I dunno if it was obvious, but I like you a lot, y'know." Thomas stutters out. Alexander smirks because its rare Thomas is this flustered.
Alexander places his hand on Thomas' warm cheek. "It's odd, Thomas. I hate you and love you at the same time.."
"I could say the same for you." Thomas responds.
They chuckle. Thomas pushes Alexander's hair back and kisses him again. Their lips part and Alexander cups Thomas' face.
"Thomas.. I've been in love with you since the day I moved in with you. I just didn't realize how deep I was until.. now." Alexander mutters to Thomas, caressing his cheeks.
Thomas places his arms over Alexander's shoulders. "Alex, I've loved you for a month now. I just didn't know how to tell you." Thomas chuckles out. Alexander smiles faintly. "You should've told me." Alexander whispers, embracing Thomas.
"Well, I told ya now, didn't I?" Thomas queries, patting Alexander's back. Alexander's embrace tightens.
"Any tighter and I'll suffocate.." Thomas says softly. Alexander loosens his embrace and looks up at Thomas. Thomas clears his throat.
"Alexander, you're a dime piece. Can't believe I'm sayin' it, but you're my best friend." Thomas starts, he glances off. "With that said, would you consider.. bein' my partner? Please. C'mon, it takes a lot to ask that, darlin'." He pleads, squeezing Alexander's hands.
Alexander smiles. "Well, since you said 'please'~.." He teases. Thomas' face gets hot and he averts his eyes. Alexander places his hand under Thomas' chin and lifts his face, making Thomas look at him. He leans into Thomas' face. "The answer is yes, you dumbass~" Alex mutters.
Alexander's lips meet Thomas' and they fall into another kiss. Alexander wraps his arms around Thomas and their lips part.
"What will the workplace say?" Alexander questions, running his slim fingers through Thomas' curly hair. Thomas ponders for a moment. "Let them say whatever they want. I'm in love with you." he responds. Thomas kisses Alexander's cheek.
"You don't know how long I've waited to hear you say that, you idiot." Alexander says, shaking his head. He leans into Thomas and his lips intertwine with Thomas' lips. After a moment, their lips part. "Oh, Alexander. Its us against the world, ain't it?" Thomas questions, caressing Alexander's cheek.
Alexander smiles.
"You're right, Thomas."
..
"It's us against the world."
