A few minutes later, Alexander goes back to working and Thomas criticizes him per usual. After a while, Alexander hears a knock at the door downstairs. How he heard it is beyond me.

Alexander goes downstairs and opens the door. He's met with.. Eliza?

  "Alexander.." She mutters.

"E..Eliza? What are you doing here?" he responds.

But Eliza doesn't answer. Alexander stares at her in most confusion.

'God, she's so pretty.' he thinks.

He reiterates her name.

"Eliza? Eliza.." he says.

Eliza is walking towards him now.

  Then he wakes up.

Alexander's eyes flutter and he sits up, rubbing his eyes. His breathing is heavy. He glances over to Thomas who is on his phone.

"Mornin', sleepin' beauty." Thomas teases. Alexander is not amused. "How long was I out?" he asks. Thomas looks at the time. "'Bout a half hour? It's 6pm. I'm gonna make the kid dinner."

Alexander nods and watches Thomas as he gets up and walks out the door. This gives Alexander a bit of time to contemplate his dream. His dream about Eliza.

'Why was she in my dream...? It can't be that I love her, can it?'

He thinks as he stares at the ceiling. He places his hand over his mouth and inhales sharply.

'Oh, fuck. I do love her. How could I not? I married the damn woman..'

Alexander is conflicted. Rationality has left his mind and all he can think of are the three people he's in love with. Three.

"Maybe I haven't changed at all.." Alexander mutters. He chuckles to himself and sighs. "Still a hopeless romantic, it seems." he mutters to himself. His stomach starts to hurt just thinking about it. He can't love three people. Can he? It's all so confusing to him. His heart is pounding.

Then, Thomas comes back into the room. "Alright, I fed the kid." Thomas says, walking in and closing the door behind him. Alexander doesn't even glance at him. He's feeling unwell.

Thomas notices Alexander's refusal to acknowledge him. "Hey, you okay?" Thomas queries. Alexander glances up at him but ultimately averts his eyes. Thomas is extremely concerned.

'Alexander's been actin' odd lately. Is it me? Perhaps I make him uncomfortable. Or was it John? He did come over.. Hm. Alexander is so unpredictable. I just hope he's okay. I wish he'd tell me what's wrong.'

Thomas is caught up in his overthinking tendencies. He's completely zoned out. Alexander takes notice. "Sorry, Thomas. Uhm. I'm not feeling well. I'm a little uneasy." Alexander says softly, through deep breaths. Thomas snaps back to reality and quickly glances at Alexander.

"No, it's okay. Wanna go outside? Maybe you need fresh air, darlin'." Thomas insists. Alexander is in no position to turn him down so he gets up and follows him outside.

They sit on the porch. Alexander inhales deeply and sighs. The evening autumn breeze is helping with his stomach pain, but he's still uncomfortable.

Thomas decides to ask Alexander a few questions since he is curious. "Alexander? Is there anythin' you needa get out? You seem distant." He queries.

Alexander glances at Thomas and his stomach feels like it tightens.

'I can't tell him. I cannot. It wouldn't be beneficial, it'd create more problems than solutions. If I tell him, he'd know I like him and he'd also know I like John AND my ex-wife. Not only would he be confused, he'd probably think I'm fucking weird.'

Alexander is deep in thought. He clears his throat. "N..No. No, I'm okay." he blatantly lies.

Thomas glares at his friend. It's a glare of disapproval. Alexander glances off. Thomas asks another question.

"Do you like John?" he queries.

Alexander's face goes deep red. "No." he once again, blatantly lies.

Thomas raises an eyebrow. He answers, "I know you do, you don't have to pander to me, darlin'."

"I'm not pandering... I'm simply telling you the truth. I don't love John." Alexander says, defensively.

Thomas shakes his head. "Debatable." he mutters, half teasing. Alexander huffs in frustration, and embarrassment. He can't let Thomas know he loves John, because how could he ever understand that it's not just John but two more as well?

Thomas doesn't want to come off too accusingly because John had done the same thing when he accused Alexander of dating Thomas. But, he can't help but assume that Alexander has grown a liking to John.

Alexander clears his throat. "John is a very good friend of mine. Love him to death. Although, platonically.."

"Hm." Thomas grunts out, half amused at Alexander's lies.

"I'm telling you, it's platonic." Alexander mutters. Thomas raises an eyebrow. "Whatever you say, darlin'." he responds.

Alexander's stomach is in knots. He doesn't want Thomas to think he likes John. Not now, not ever. He can't know. Although, it is true. Alexander is conflicted.

Thomas softens his gaze on Alexander. "I believe you, I mean. If ya say you don't like him, then I suppose you mean it." Thomas says softly. Alexander sighs. A part of him feels bad for lying but what else could he do?

Alexander walks inside. He immediately calls Lafayette. He'll know what to do. Lafayette had helped Alexander with relationship problems in the past, especially when they were younger.

Thomas follows Alexander inside. Alexander is waiting for Lafayette to pick up. "I don't make you uncomfortable, do I?" Thomas asks. Alexander glances at him. The answer is no, but Alexander feels very sick at the moment and he could barely assess the question. "Yeah." he replies. Thomas raises an eyebrow. "Oh, I'm.. sorry." he responds.

Alexander's head is spinning and his stomach is in knots, he can barely think or even process what Thomas had said. He's just holding the phone tightly and waiting on Lafayette to call back.

Thomas notices Alexander's refusal to acknowledge him and he sighs. That sigh was criminal. He walks into the bathroom and closes the door behind him. He assumes Alexander wants space. In reality, Alexander was just not paying attention because of his headache.

Then, Lafayette picks up the phone.

  "..Hello?"
