"James, you can't." Thomas demands, taking a step forward. He places his hands on James' shoulders. "My reputation-"
"Wow, Thomas. You seem embarrassed to be hangin' around Alexander." Aaron teases. Thomas bites his lip anxiously. "Yeah, if you're so ashamed of him then why are you dating him, Thomas?" James adds.
"I'm not dating him!" Thomas defensively exclaims. "I'd never even think of it, fellas." he adds.
James raises an eyebrow. Aaron glances at Alexander who he knows is staring at them through the doorway, mostly hidden.
James responds, "Right.. But, he's livin' with you.. Not only that, you share an office. I'm startin' to think..-"
Thomas cuts him off. "Well, you're thinkin' wrong, James!" he yells.
James looks down at his phone and starts typing something. He chuckles. "Why are you hangin' around him, then?" James queries.
Thomas pauses and glances off. "None of your business." he mutters.
James raises an eyebrow. "And here I thought we had the same enemy, Thomas."
"We do." Thomas mutters.
"No we don't. You're workin' with the enemy, Thomas. It's us or him." James responds. His tone cold and condescending. It sends chills down Thomas' spine. Aaron nods at James' statement.
"The likeness of Hamilton will be the death of your reputation in itself. We'd have nothin' to with that." Aaron adds.
Thomas remains silent.James' face stays serious. "I suggest you stop hangin' around Hamilton. Either that, or unfortunately you become the very thing you hated." He insists.
Thomas chuckles. "Okay, James. I only hear you spewin' a bunch'a crap outta your mouth. It's like you're speakin' just to speak. Bla, bla, bla. When does it end?" he teases at an attempt to get James to shut up. James pinches his nose bridge.
Aaron sighs. "Your pride will be the death of us all." he mutters.
Thomas glances at Aaron, not fully understanding his statement. James continues to type on his phone before looking up. "Thomas, I advise you to check the co-worker social media page." James insists, turning off his phone. "Come along, Aaron. Our work here is done." James adds. Aaron follows him out of the room.
Thomas raises an eyebrow at James as he leaves.
'Check the page? Shit. What'd he do..' Thomas thinks.
Before Thomas can check, Alexander walks back into the room. "Thomas, I.."
Thomas walks up to the door and closes it; he locks it. Then he sighs and turns to his co-worker. "Not your fault that I fancy you, Alexander. I suppose that's more a me problem."
Alexander glances at the floor. "I suppose.."
Thomas glances at his phone for a moment and his eyes widen. "Hm. Oh, shit." he mutters under his breath.
"Hm? What's wrong?" Alexander queries.
"Look at this." Thomas mutters.
He shows Alexander his phone and it's a social media post sent by James in the subgroup of the page that only a few people who work with them can see. Still, very judgmental and gossip-ridden people. It reads:
"I'm afraid one of us has turned their back on this movement. Despite their efforts, they still fell victim to the other party. Dare I say they were persuaded. With the heaviest heart I bid them farewell."
