Loki can confidently say that when he joined the Avengers after Tony snapped Thanos away, he was not expecting to be where he was now—in an elevator, cornered by his boyfriend.
"Hey, Loki," Tony nudged Loki. He poked the god's cheek when he didn't get an answer. "Loki," he whined, dragging out the I.
"What?" Loki hissed.
Tony grabbed Loki's arm and leaned his weight on him. "Let's do 'Get Help.'"
Loki shook the clingy man off of him. "No! I wish my oaf of a brother never told you about that. The last time I did and will do 'Get Help' was when Thor and I fought our sister." Loki said defiantly.
"It'll be fun," Tony protested.
"Being thrown at puny mortals is not my idea of fun," Loki deadpanned.
"Come on, grumpy," Tony pouted. "The team is always pranking each other. Once, I replaced all of Clint's exploding arrows with ones that blasted glitter when they hit anything. He almost died during a battle because I forgot about it, but that's beside the point. It is a bonding exercise."
"Stark," Loki said sternly. "It has only been a few months since I joined your team. Your team still distrusts me despite how much I aided Thor and Valkyrie when Thanos attacked Asgard. Nothing I can do would make them see me as a true teammate. Not even saving your pathetic life after you snapped Thanos away changed their opinions about me. Do you think pranking the same people who would rather see me dead than watch my back in a battle would help?"
Tony was silent—a feat in and of itself. Only a few people were able to render the genius speechless. Not for long, though. Soon he was babbling Loki's ear off again.
"Please, Loki, babe-"
"Do not call me that!"
"Do it once for me?"
"Will it make you stop talking?"
"For at least a minute," Tony answered honestly.
"A minute is all I need."
...
The elevator doors opened, and Tony stepped out, dragging Loki's deathly pale, limp body with him. "Get help!" He yelled.
Clint and Steve, the only people in the room, jumped. The pure terror on their faces was enough for Tony and Loki to break character. Tony cracked first. He almost dropped Loki from how hard he was laughing. After regaining his balance, Loki joined Tony in laughter.
Steve and Clint stared between the cackling idiots in confusion.
"You should have seen your faces!" Tony pointed at them with the hand that wasn't clutching Loki for balance.
Clint rolled his eyes. He was annoyed Tony managed to prank him again, and so soon after, Clint vowed to be on guard, but he could respect a genius prank. Steve shook his head in disgust and turned away. He had never condoned the prank war.
Once again, Tony looked at his boyfriend and was rendered speechless at the elation on his face.
Loki had never been truly happy after Asgard was destroyed and the Asgardians moved to Earth. He wouldn't admit it to anyone, but Tony could tell. Loki is a magnificent liar, but Tony is a master of concealing his genuine emotions behind a mask. Loki's mask was no match for Tony's prowess.
