Finding Her Mate

Chapter 1

Life is never simple, who knows what may come your way; I always believed life was like two side of a coins; good and bad however I never expected to be in this situation. I grew up with no family or money just a black belt in taekwondo however things are about to change today being my eighteenth birthday; A young girl is in a wedding dress standing next to a man as her hands are bloodied she pleads, "don't make me do this." The unknown person says, "do it." She holds the knife in her hand saying, "I c-can't do this." The unknown guy says, "you have no choice, you have to... do it Maddie." The young woman wakes up thinking, 'it felt so real.' Maddie freshens up before heading down to the gym where she begins her training for the day; later that evening she feels distracted throwing a kick at her trainer. Maddie extends her hand helping Alicia up saying, "are you ok? sorry I...." Alicia says, "don't say sorry, birthday girl that was a pretty good kick." Maddie sighs thinking, 'yep today's my eighteenth.' Maddie again apologises however Alicia grabs a bottle of water asking, "where do you get that strength from, Maddie? were your parents Vikings or something?." Maddie replies, "Vikings? no way... I think they were Alien warriors." Alicia laughs before saying, "really, are you sure they were not in some kind of organisation?." Maddie has a brief thought before saying, "I think they were in a clan; it must have been a very bad one because I was taken away and put into care." Alicia says, "I was just saying that Viking parents sound more interesting that Alien warriors or even the clan thing." Maddie drinks a few gulps of water as Alicia notices her friend feeling sad saying, "I'm sorry for bringing them up on your birthday, I'm such an idiot." 

Maddie forces a smile replying, "hey don't worry about it, it's ok I never knew them... now that I am out of the system, I am allowed to drink and being an adult rocks!." Alicia asks, "are you sure you don't want to go out and celebrate being eighteen?." Maddie looks outside the window at the rain pouring heavily before replying, "no thanks Alicia, it's pouring heavily with rain beside I've got a bottle of bubbly at home with my name on it." Alicia says, "I will close up, you head on home early." Maddie nods and heads to the locker room and changes before heading out. Someone in the shadow says, "finally, I found you." The person comes closer to Maddie revealing himself as a handsome guy in a brown leather jacket, blue jeans and trainers saying, "I should have known I'd find you in a place like this." Maddie says, "I'm sorry sir, but the gym's closed." He says, "I am not here to work out or take a class." Maddie thinks to herself, 'take a deep breath, you know what to do in these kind of situations. Maddie says, "perhaps you didn't hear me, the gym is closed.. please leave." He says, "or what?." Maddie's face becomes angry saying, "or I will make you." He laughs saying, "I'd really like to see you try." Maddie kicks and punches him however he blocks himself saying, "damn, you've got moxy, I'll give you that, Maddie." Maddie was shocked and infuriated asking, "who the hell are you and how do you know who I am?." He replies, "the name's Rhydian and I'd know you anywhere, you're my mate after all." Maddie says stunned, "your...mate? what is that supposed to mean?." Rhydian answers, "it means I have chosen you and that you're mine." Maddie says, "like hell I am, you perv." Rhydian says, "this isn't something you can just turn down, Maddie, you're my mate and you're coming with me right now.... happy birthday, by the way." 

Maddie thinks, 'ok, forget this.' Maddie kicks Rhydian hard and goes past him however two guys block her way. One of the guy has an army style outfit while the other is wearing a checked shirt and ripped jeans saying, "so, this is her!." The guy in the army outfit says, "this bitch doesn't look like much, does she Ryan?." Ryan says, "remember our orders, Jake you cannot hurt her." Jake laughs saying, "me, hurt her? if anything we should be afraid of her-." Rhydian comes there saying, "she's no threat to you, just hurry up and take her... we don't have much time." Maddie thinks, 'this is insane, they are actually trying to kidnap me... they are messing with the wrong girl.' Maddie says, "wait, please I didn't do anything!." Jake says, "you're a weakling, aren't you little girl?." Ryan says, "it makes sense, weakness is in your blood." Maddie wonders, 'in my blood? Who the hell do these two guys think they are? it doesn't matter, I just need to get a little closer to the door.' As she tries to make her move Ryan punches her as she falls to the ground with Rhydian angrily saying, "hey!."
