Chapter 24

Maddie says, "you're a good man, Rhydian." Rhydian says, "I am still responsible for this, all of this, I am sorry let me make up for that now." He comes closer and caresses her cheek softly saying, "let me show you I am more than just your prison guard." Maddie blushes saying, "okay." Rhydian gently rubs the water over her neck and body giving her a light wash as he says, "close your eyes, Maddie." Maddie thinks, 'this feels amazing.' She opens her eyes to see Rhydian close to her as he says, "turn around, babe." Maddie says, "you don't have to ask me twice." Rhydian chuckles saying, "good, I wasn't going to ask you the second time, babe." Maddie turns her back to Rhydian as he says, "if you take this off, it will be better... I will be a gentleman, I promise." Maddie unclasp her bra as she places it to the corner as Rhydian gently begins to wash her body saying, "your skin is...." Maddie felt a little worried asking, "w-what did you say? Is there something wrong in my skin?" Rhydian replies, "of course not, your skin is so smooth, like it's never seen a single hardship." Maddie sighs saying, "it's seen it, I just heal it well." Maddie closes her eyes remembering memories of the torture from the foster home as Rhydian says, "I am sorry Maddie, I won't let anyone touch you like that again." He soon finishes washing her as she grabs her bra and wears it before turning to face Rhydian. Maddie says, "thank you Rhydian." Her eyes trail down to Rhydian's scars on his chest as she steps closer however Rhydian steps back. Maddie says, "Rhydian you look incredible and strong." Rhydian says, "incredible? Strong? Right, not really the words I would use, it is ok if the scars appall you every time you have to see it, you would not be the first." 

Maddie thinks sadly, 'disgusting? Is that really how he sees himself?' Maddie comes closer and places her hand on his chest saying, "Stop, it's your turn to stay still." He stays still as Maddie says, "I know these remind you of a painful past but to me, they are a part of you and that makes them beautiful." She leans in and presses her lips against the thickest scar, his heart thunders beneath her kiss. Rhydian says surprised, "Maddie...." Maddie says, "just be a good boy and hold still, Alpha." Maddie kisses each scar saying, "they are beautiful to me Rhydian and so are you." Rhydian says, "no one has ever.... I mean...." Rhydian holds her gently saying, "thank you Maddie." Rhydian looks at the sky saying, "it's like we have been here forever, we need to get back before dark." Soon after dinner they both head upstairs as Maddie says, "thanks once again for the bath." Rhydian says, "anytime, Maddie." Maddie is about to head into her room however Rhydian stops her holding her wrist asking, "where do you think you are going?" Maddie replies, "to bed, just like you said." Rhydian says, "not in there, you are not, not after Jake attacked you right under my nose... you're sleeping with me." Maddie was shocked saying, "w-what? You mean in your-." Rhydian says, "in my room, in my bed."
