Rhydian says, "I will do my best to make sure you never have to make good on this promise, Mads." Maddie says, "Rhydian, I will do the same for you." Rhydian says, "you should not have to, I am the Alpha." Maddie says, "well you'd better get used to it. Rhydian... why?" Rhydian replies, "why, what Maddie?" Maddie asks, "why would you do all of this for me?" Rhydian looks at her as Maddie says, "Rhydian." He gets up as a sharp glow flash in his eyes as he pulls Maddie to her feet. Maddie asks, "w-what are you-?" As the Ferris wheel reaches the highest point Rhydian opens the door and pulls her close. He says, "hang on, Mads." He jumps, holding Maddie tight as the two of them soar through the air and away from the Ferris wheel. The jump down to a rooftop as Maddie feels her heart in her throat from the sudden drop. Maddie says, "Rhydian what the fu-." Before she can finish her words, he leaps again and holds her over another rooftop. After a few more times Maddie stops and looks at Rhydian angrily saying, "what the hell was that?" Instead of responding, Rhydian moves in suddenly, pressing down against the shingles of the roof. Maddie looked a little frightened saying, "Rhydian, you're scaring me, please explain what's going on." Rhydian says, "I am sorry, Mads I just... I need your scent, more than anything." Maddie says confused, "my scent?" 

Rhydian nods replying, "yeah, after everything we went through last night. after shifting against my will, I do not know if I can hold myself back as much as I usually do around you." Maddie wonders, 'he is usually holding himself back? How much?' Rhydian says, "I need to scent you, Maddie, I have to.. I know you feel it too, do not fight it, let me have you." He pulls her closer as she looks into his eyes saying, "I am not fighting anything." She draws herself closer to Rhydian as he inhales Maddie deeply before transforming into his Wolfblood. Rhydian says, "mine... all mine." Maddie transforms into her Wolfblood form saying, "Rhydian...." She feels her body grow hot and feels his intoxicating musk wash over her; She thinks, 'after transforming, his scent is even more powerful to me, god, it's like a drug.' Rhydian sinks his teeth into her neck giving her pleasure before soon they change back, he thanks her saying, "I needed that, Mads, more than you know." Maddie says, "Rhydian, you still haven't answered my question... so many years watching over me, protecting me, why?." Rhydian answers, "I-." Just then Rhydian's mobile rings as he answers the call as his expression changes from calm to worried. Maddie notices this asking, "Rhydian, who was that?." Rhydian answers, "it's the pack, they would not be calling me unless... THE PACK IS UNDER ATTACK!." Maddie's face filled with anger and worry as Rhydian takes her hand saying, "we need to move, now!."
