Finding Her Mate

Chapter 10

Rhydian says surprised, "Maddie....." Despite his struggle, Rhydian's eyes shine as Maddie sees an emotion of happiness and hope; Zion says, "you little....." Rhydian says, "I'll say it again, Zion let go of my mate!." Zion turns to face Rhydian as his face clouds with utter rage and his eyes flash red; he clenches his jaw, closes his eyes, and takes a deep breath before looking at Maddie again with his false smile back. Zion says, "you're not ready to accept the truth yet, that's ok I will just have to show you who you belong to." Zion's claws dig deep into Maddie's neck as she tries to free herself but feels her airway is blocked. Maddie says, "LET ME GO!." Zion says, "if you insist....." Zion slams her against the wall as Rhydian's eye widen with golden yelling, "NO!." He pushes the two enemies Wolfblood and begins to fight Zion who is quicker and stops Rhydian's fist with his hand. Zion says, "nice try, Rhydian." Zion punches Rhydian and tackles him to the ground just as Maddie gets up shocked saying, "RHYDIAN... get up!." Rhydian tries but Zion boxes him in the stomach as she hears a sickening crunch. Maddie wonders, 'how the hell is he so strong?.' Maddie yells, "RHYDIAN!!." Maddie looks around before grabbing a glass vase and smashing it at Zion who begins bleeding and backs away; Rhydian gets up as Zion says to Maddie, "you brat!." Rhydian punches Zion before turning to Maddie asking, "Maddie, are you ok? You-." Before Maddie can answer they are interrupted by a call for help from Akira who is held roughly in Zion's arms. Hannah yells, "AKIRA!!." Zion's eyes change to deep red as he says, "enough!." Suddenly everyone other pack member is forced flat on to the floor as Maddie hears the same tremor of power in Zion's command that she previously heard in Rhydian's 'OBEY.' Maddie thinks, 'no, he has Akira! What should I do?.' She uses her strength to get up and runs to Zion saying, "LET. HER.GO!." 

Zion says, "don't make this difficult, Maddie, I would hate to hurt the little girl." Akira cries calling, "m-mommy!." Hannah pleads, "Stop! Please, stop!." Rhydian says, "let her go, you bastard!." Zion says, "hmmm... no. I don't think I will do that, I think I need to teach my new mate a lesson... disobey me and reap the consequences." Maddie says, "You.... you can take me instead of Akira." Zion says, "I intend to... but I think this lesson is important, so... I will be taking her until you have decided to be a good girl.... see you soon Maddie." Zion lifts Akira in his arms and sweeps out of the house with the rest of the rival pack, Rhydian bolts after him however it's no use as he is too fast. Rhydian comes back as everyone is sad and worried while he says, "no.... damn it....." Ryan angrily says, "you... this is your fault!." He points angrily at Maddie with tears in his eyes saying, "you are the reason Zion was here, you are the reason that bastard took my daughter." Maddie says stunned, "what?." Ryan comes closer saying, "it's your fault... my daughter, my little girl is-." Hannah says, "our girl.... our baby girl...." Maddie sees the pain in their eyes saying, "Hannah, Ryan... I am sorry, I swear I will do all I can to get her back." Hannah says, "you will?." Maddie nods replying, "yes, I swear... I will save her myself even if it means they take me instead and until then, Akira's going to be ok, she's a strong kid and she's resourceful." Hannah hugs her saying, "thank you." 

Ryan holds Hannah saying, "that means a lot, Maddie; you are right, she is a tough kid, and we are going to save her no matter what." Maddie turns to see Rhydian who gives her a small nod as pride and respect is clear on his face. Rhydian thanks Maddie before saying, "everyone, gather supplies I am going after them." Ryan says, "I am going with you." Kayden says, "me too." Another girl also says, "me too." Kayden steps forward, alongside the female guard; Rhydian says, "alright Ryan, Kayden and Ellie, make your preparations and meet back here in-." Maddie says, "I am going too." Rhydian says surprised, "Maddie-." Maddie firmly looks at him saying, "I made a promise, I am going, I cannot sleep until Akira's safe, just imagining how scared she must be is tearing me up inside." Ellie says, "yeah, we all feel that way, but we will move faster if-." Rhydian says, "she can come, you saw me during that fight I.... I need Maddie, she is my true mate; one touch and I will be strong enough to stop him, it's the only way." The pack members bow their heads in agreement and quickly move to gather weapons and supplies while Maddie soon notices Rhydian heading up the stairs with his head bowed low.
