Chapter 53

Rhydian leans in and kisses Maddie as she deepens it. Maddie and Rhydian look at the pack as Ryan calls out, "the hunt!". Rhydian laughs as Maddie turns asking, "we're hunting something? Hunting what?". Rhydian says, "you will be the only one hunting tonight, my bride". He whispers, "you're hunting me, I'm your prize... a little Wolfblood tradition, if you're able to find me before the sun sets, you may claim your prize within the wood". He winks at her as Maddie says, "sounds like you want to be caught". Rhydian says, "maybe, but that doesn't mean I am going to make it easy on you". Rhydian runs as Maddie ties up her dress and runs into the woods; she soon comes to a glistening waterfall as Rhydian shifts rapidly into his Wolfblood form and bounces through the water. Maddie changes into her Wolfblood form after Rhydian as she goes behind the waterfall and sees a secret oasis with Rhydian smiling at her. Maddie lunges in her Wolfblood form, tackling him with surprise. They soon change back into their human form as Rhydian says, "guess you caught me, it's time to claim your prize, Maddie". Maddie says, "actually, I feel like being your prize, Alpha". Maddie gives a cheeky smile as Rhydian grins and pins her hand above her head. He asks, "are you ready for me, baby?". Maddie replies, "yes...". They make passionate love as Rhydian says, "god, I love you so much Maddie". Maddie says, "I love you too, Rhydian". He says, "you're perfect, Mads". Maddie blushes saying, "so are you, perfect for me Rhydian". They both nuzzle into each other before soon getting up and wearing their outfits. Rhydian looks at the sky which has now turned to night saying, "we should probably get back to the party, wifey". Maddie says, "hold on a second, hubby". Rhydian turns back asking, "what's up, babe?". Maddie replies, "I have something to tell you, something I've known about for a few weeks now, Rhydian how would you feel about being a dad?". Rhydian answers, "how would I feel? I mean, I would love it". Maddie says, "you would?". Rhydian says, "what are you saying?". 

Maddie replies, "well.. I am saying...". She rubs her stomach saying, "I am saying we're pregnant, Rhydian". Rhydian is stunned and shocked saying, "you're- ". Maddie smiles, "pregnant, yeah, are you happy?". Rhydian lifts her saying, "are you kidding? I have never been happier in my life". He puts her down gently and kisses her stomach before taking her hand and heading back to the pack to break the news. Nine months fly by at Rhydian's side as the big day finally arrives. Maddie says, "Rhydian the baby's on its way". Rhydian lifts her and carries to the delivery room. Sarah arrives asking, "how are you doing, Maddie?". Maddie replies, "honestly? I'm a little nervous". Sarah says, "that's to be expected but we're going to get you through the hard part so you can meet your little one, it might be better if we do this alone, Rhydian". Rhydian was stunned saying, "what?". Sarah says, "it's up to you both, but sometimes it's easier if it's just women in the room". Rhydian says, "no, no I am staying with Maddie". Maddie looks at Rhydian saying, "yes, please stay and hold my hand". Rhydian takes Maddie's hand saying, "thank you, Maddie, I love you". Maddie opens to say the words back, but a strong contraction steals her words away as she moans in pain. Sarah says, "that's our cue, Maddie deep breath, here we go". The labor is long and hard, Rhydian is with Maddie through it all. He says, "I've got you, I'm right here, one last push, my love we're almost there". Maddie feels her body sapped of energy and can barely keep her eyes open however Rhydian's words give her the strength she needs. Rhydian says, "I got you baby, come on... one more". Maddie grits her teeth and push one more time, harder than ever before; she then falls back hearing the cries of her baby. Rhydian says, "oh my god, Maddie you did it". He kisses her as Sarah says, "congratulations, you have a darling baby girl". Maddie says, "a girl? We have a daughter". Rhydian holds her saying, "she looks exactly like you, Maddie... she's so beautiful". 

Maddie feels a sharp pain in her stomach as she screams out. Rhydian panics as Sarah comes over to Maddie and checks saying, "the second baby is to come out". Rhydian is holding their daughter as Maddie uses all strength to push; Sarah takes the second baby to be wash and brought back as Maddie says, "I want to hold my baby girl". Rhydian comes over and hands it to Maddie just as Sarah comes back in holding the second baby and hands it to Rhydian who asks, "is this another baby girl?". Sarah replies, "no it's your son". Rhydian smiled as he cuddles his baby boy. Maddie is exhausted however Rhydian comes closer holding their son. Hannah, Kayden, Charlie, Ryan, and Akira come in. Kayden hugs Sarah saying, "you did great babe". Hannah asks, "do you have a name for your children?". Maddie looks at her daughter saying, "our daughter will be called Meinir". Rhydian was touched by Maddie's word remembering his mom. Rhydian says, "our son will be named Alarik". Akira says, "welcome to the world Meinir and Alarik". Sarah says, "your babies are the first born of true mates in atleast three hundred years". Maddie was surprised saying, "really?". Kayden says, "Sarah's right, they are both amazing". Rhydian says, "our kids don't need a legacy to be outstanding". He looks at Maddie saying, "after all, you didn't need a legacy to be amazing either, Maddie". Hannah and Sarah take the babies as Rhydian and Maddie share a kiss with Maddie thinking, 'he found me, my mate... my forever happiness..'.
