Chapter 21: You're Safe

"Put your hands up!"

About a dozen officers came around the corner. Each of them held guns in their hands. They pointed their guns at Tooru. But he picked me and used me as a shield. The tip of my feet touched the ground.

"Let the girl go."

"You can never get between us. You will NEVER take her from ME!"

Tooru made his crazy facial expression. The one he made the night he broke my legs. The expression I feared the most.

His grip was tight. His nails dug into my skin.

Tears fell from my eyes. I just wanted to go home. I had no idea how long I was with him for. I hated it there. It was a living nightmare.

"Let the girl go and none of us will shoot."

"Like I said before. No one, not even the FUCKING POLICE, will get in the way of OUR love!"

I tried to squirm out of his grasp. But he only tightened his grip more.

Then to our surprise, the window behind us shattered. Then a bullet hit Tooru's leg. He fell to the ground and dropped me. An officer came to me and picked me up. He took me outside where I was placed in an ambulance.

They checked me out to see if I was okay.

A few minutes later, Tooru came out in handcuffs. His leg was still bleeding, as he walked out of the house and into another police car.

I was told that I would be riding in the ambulance and going to the hospital due to the lack of care for my broken legs and stab wound. The officers did say that they would come and talk to me.

Two weeks have gone by. I was out of the hospital and back in my own house. I was back with my family and back at school.

The trail was today, and I was scared. I was scared to face Oikawa again. But also, I knew he would never be let free. He was caught by the police. He is going to be in prison for a long time hopefully.

I was sitting in the courtroom. I met someone who Oikawa framed. His name was Ushijima. He was nice. We talked a lot before the trail started.

When the trail started Oikawa looked at me in anger. He might have been mad at me since I went with the police. They did tell me beforehand that he would not hurt me.

The trial went on. Everyone knew the ending of it before it started.

When Ushijima was talking, he stared at me. His eyes were more comforting than Oikawas. It made me blush, and smile.

I felt eyes staring through me. I looked over to see Oikawa with his murderous eyes staring at me. I then looked away from both of them in fear.

At the end of the trail, Oikawa was found guilty. He will be in prison for 40 years due to first degree murder and kidnapping. He did however have some last words before leaving the room.

"You will NEVER escape from me. My love for you will always be in me. You can't hold me for long. I WILL find a way out and when I do, I will take what's rightfully mine."

They then took him out of the room. Everything from that day forward was peaceful.

Over the next few years Ushijima and I became closer and closer. Once we both graduated from college, we moved far away from the prison Oikawa was being held in. We didn't want to take the chance of him dying and me being taken.

Right now we are both on a date. We are at this beautiful park in the beginning of spring. The cherry blossom trees started to bloom. The trees filled the park around us. Toshi brought me to a fountain. The water was crystal blue.

"(Y/N). We have both been together for about six years now. I love you no matter what. Even after death, I will always love you. And to prove it to you." Toshi got down on one knee.

I knew what was happening and I started to cry.

"(Y/N), will you marry me?"

"Yes."
